Blackburn v Man City FA Cup Ewood Park 4 Janember 2014 – Kickoff time 12:45 GMT

Aaron Mokoena and Matt Derbyshire were Blackburn's heroes seven years ago as Mark Hughes's men dumped out Stuart Pearce's City at Ewood Park to reach the semi-final. Mokoena later saw red for a second booking.

Much has changed at both clubs in the interim, indeed Rovers' 1-0 win in the following home league game v City is their only win in the following 10 against them.

Rovers are now managed by Gary Bowyer. His father Ian won the FA Cup with Manchester City in 1969 and two European Cups with Nottingham Forest.
Blackburn midfielder David Dunn trained with the squad on Friday and could feature following a hamstring injury.

Rovers right-back Todd Kane misses out with a thigh strain but Jason Lowe returns after a one-match suspension.

Manchester City playmaker David Silva returns from suspension but midfielder Jack Rodwell (hamstring) is out.

Strikers Sergio Aguero (calf) and Stevan Jovetic (hamstring), and defenders Micah Richards and Martin Demichelis (hamstring) are also out.

After four games in 12 days over Christmas, and a League Cup date with West Ham next Wednesday, City boss Manuel Pellegrini says he must utilise his squad.

He said: "We are going to make changes because we are playing too often in the last (few) weeks.

"We are going to try to have a good squad and to win the first game in our FA Cup (campaign) because for our team it is an important cup.

"I said from the beginning of the season if we are going to play in every competition we must play with exactly the same importance.

"The FA Cup is a very traditional competition here in England and in every country of Europe the cup is always an important competition.

"I just told the players it an important test for us, not only for the team but for individual performances."
