Millwall right-back Alan Dunne (knee) will face a late fitness test ahead of the visit of Middlesbrough. Josh Wright has been recalled from his loan at Leyton Orient while Nicky Bailey (knee) and fellow midfielder Richard Chaplow (groin) are still out. Middlesbrough defender Jonathan Woodgate (thigh) will be assessed ahead of the game at the Den.
Striker Marvin Emnes (hamstring) has a chance to return but goalkeeper Jason Steele (ankle) will not be involved......Millwall will check on Alan Dunne ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet Championship clash with Middlesbrough at The Den.
Right-back Dunne suffered a badly-gashed knee during last weekend's 3-2 defeat at Blackburn and was replaced by Justin Hoyte.
But Hoyte cannot play as he is on loan from Boro while boss Steve Lomas admitted he was considering changes at the back anyway following the Ewood Park display, so Danny Shittu and Shane Lowry are in contention for recalls.
Boro old-boy Nicky Bailey (knee) and fellow midfielders Richard Chaplow (groin) and Lee Martin (hamstring) are still out so Lomas has recalled Josh Wright from his loan at Leyton Orient. Middlesbrough defender Jonathan Woodgate, meanwhile, is battling against injury to be ready.
The 33-year-old limped off at half-time in the 1-0 home defeat by Brighton with a thigh problem and his condition is being assessed ahead of the game at The Den.
Striker Marvin Emnes missed the defeat by the Seagulls with a slight hamstring injury, but he has a chance of returning after nursing the strain this week.
However, goalkeeper Jason Steele (ankle), striker Kei Kamara (knee) and full-back Andy Halliday (hernia) will not be involved.

Head to Head
Millwall did the League double over Middlesbrough last season, winning 3-1 at the New Den before a 2-1 win at Middlesbrough in February.
Both teams have scored in each of the last five meetings.
It is almost 110 years since the team's first meeting, an FA Cup tie in February 1904, in which Middlesbrough won 2-0 at Millwall.

Millwall
Millwall have the worst defensive record in the Championship this season, they have conceded 40 goals in their 20 matches.
Millwall are unbeaten in their last seven matches at The New Den - winning four and drawing three.
They have kept just two clean sheets in 11 home matches in all competitions.
Millwall have won just two of their last 11 matches, all of which have been in the Championship.

Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough have won just one of their last seven matches, a 1-0 win against Bolton on November 30. This is their only win under Aitor Karanka.
Since the appointment of Karanka, Middlesbrough have won once, drawn once and lost three.
Boro have not won an away match since their first away game of the season, a 1-0 win at Charlton. This was their only clean sheet on the road this season.
Their 2-2 draw at Birmingham in their last away match brought to an end a run of five consecutive away defeats.

Reading's Danny Guthrie is set to return from suspension after missing last weekend's 1-0 win at Huddersfield.Midfielder Chris Baird (ankle) will also be in contention but the Royals are still without defenders Wayne Bridge and Sean Morrison (both knee). Wigan's new boss Uwe Rosler is set to make several changes for their trip to the Madejski Stadium.
Striker Grant Holt (knee) is still sidelined, while Callum McManaman is likely to return to the squad.....Danny Guthrie returns to the Reading squad for Saturday's Sky Bet Championship clash with Wigan at the Madejski Stadium.
Guthrie missed last weekend's 1-0 win at Huddersfield through suspension after collecting five yellow cards this season.
Fellow midfielder Chris Baird will also be in contention if he can prove his fitness following a sprained ankle.
But the Royals, who will kick off in fifth spot, are still without defenders Wayne Bridge and Sean Morrison (both knee), midfielders Jem Karacan (cruciate) and Mikele Leigertwood (ankle) and striker Jason Roberts (hip).
Wigan boss Uwe Rosler, meanwhile, has vowed to shuffle his pack again, jokingly suggesting he will bring in as many as eight new faces to the starting line-up.
A Latics XI featuring five changes were beating Sheffield Wednesday in midweek until persistent downpours forced the match to be abandoned at Hillsborough, with the likes of Grant Holt, Ivan Ramis and Emmerson Boyce not even in the matchday 18.
Striker Holt, via his Twitter account, assured fans he was being careful with a knee injury from earlier in the season while Callum McManaman, who was so impressive against Bolton last Sunday, is another likely to return with Rosler insisting he has specific plans in mind for the Madejski Stadium clash.
Goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi (knee) was on the bench in Sheffield and is nearing a return to full fitness, giving Rosler a quandary over whether to pick him ahead of Scott Carson, while Gary Caldwell (hip) played for the development squad on Monday but Shaun Maloney (shoulder) and Juan Carlos Garcia (ankle)

Head To Head
The teams have met on 38 previous occasions, all of them in League competition. Reading have won 14, one fewer than Wigan's 15 wins, and there have been nine draws.
Wigan scored three goals in both matches against Reading last season, when both teams were in the Premier League. The Latics won 3-0 at Reading in February after a 3-2 win at the DW Stadium in November 2012.
Jordi Gomez scored a hat trick in Wigan's 3-2 win at the DW Stadium last season.
The last six meetings between the teams were all in the Premier League - they last met at Championship level in 2004-05, when they drew 1-1.

Reading
Reading lost their unbeaten home record a fortnight ago. They were beaten 2-1 by Bournemouth, bringing an end to their run of nine home matches unbeaten since the start of the season.
Reading have scored in nine of their 10 home matches so far this season - the only team to keep a clean sheet at Reading were Brighton, who left with a 0-0 draw.
Reading have scored exactly one goal in each of their last four home matches.

Wigan Athletic
Wigan's 3-2 win over Bolton last Saturday ended a run of six consecutive defeats in all competitions. It was Uwe Rosler's first win in his second match in charge of Wigan.
Wigan have won just two away games in the Championship, at Barnsley on the opening day and at Yeovil. They have lost 10 of their 14 away matches in all competitions.
Wigan have scored in only four of their 14 away matches played in all competitions.

Winger Paddy McCourt (hamstring) is a doubt, so Jim O'Brien is on stand-by....Leeds have a doubt over Danny Pugh ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet Championship clash with Barnsley at Elland Road.
Pugh has started the last six matches for Brian McDermott's side, but is struggling with a knock and could have a late fitness test.
Centre-half Scott Wootton, yet to appear since early November after recovering from an ankle injury, is in contention after completing 90 minutes for the development squad, while fellow defender Adam Drury and winger Dominic Poleon played in the same match.
Noel Hunt is closing in on a return following a hamstring injury, but although fellow striker El-Hadji Diouf returned to training this week after returning from Africa, the Senegal international is unlikely to feature.
Barnsley boss Danny Wilson, meanwhile, could be boosted by the surprise return of striker Chris O'Grady for his first game since returning to take charge of the club for a second time this week.
O'Grady has missed the last five games due to a calf strain, but returned to training this week and Wilson will assess the seven-goal forward on the day.
Winger Paddy McCourt is doubtful after being forced out of last week's home draw with Yeovil due to a hamstring injury, so Jim O'Brien is on stand-by.
Goalkeeper Luke Steele remains sidelined with the back problem that has kept him out since September.

Head To Head
Barnsley have won on only one of their last seven visits to Elland Road, a 2-1 win in November 2011.
Both meetings last season ended in home wins - Leeds won 1-0 at Elland Road thanks to a Luciano Becchio penalty. Barnsley won 2-0 at Oakwell.
There has not been a goalless draw between these teams since April 1983, encompassing the last 27 meetings.

Leeds United
Leeds have won five of their last six matches at Elland Road - their draw against Watford in their last home game ended a run of five consecutive home victories.
They have scored in 10 of their 11 home matches played in all competitions - on the only occasion they failed to score they lost 1-0 to QPR, one of only two home defeats this season.
Leeds have scored 19 home goals in the Championship so far this season. Only Derby have registered more home goals in the division.

Barnsley
Barnsley have collected just four points from 30 available away from home so far this season. Their only away win was a 2-1 win at Brighton under caretaker Micky Mellon, who was replaced by Danny Wilson as permanent manager on Tuesday.
They have lost eight of their 10 Championship matches away from Oakwell this season.
Barnsley's total of four points on the road this season is the lowest away points total in the whole of the Premier and Football League.

Watford will be boosted by the return of defenders Joel Ekstrand (suspension) and Lloyd Doyley (hamstring).

Manager Giuseppe Sannino will take charge for the first time after replacing Gianfranco Zola this week....Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is available to make his Ipswich debut in Saturday's Sky Bet Championship clash with Watford at Portman Road.
The striker, a free agent following his departure from Wolves at the end of last season, signed for Town on Thursday on a deal until the end of the season.
Otherwise, Mick McCarthy has a fully-fit squad as Town aim to extend their unbeaten run to five matches against a Hornets outfit who are winless in nine and will be led by new head coach Giuseppe Sannino.
Town frontman Paul Taylor missed last weekend's goalless draw at Nottingham Forest due to illness but is likely to have recovered.
Former Chievo boss Sannino was appointed as Watford's new manager on Wednesday in the wake of fellow Italian Gianfranco Zola's resignation, with the Hornets winless in nine matches following last weekend's 1-0 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
Sannino is boosted by the return of defenders Joel Ekstrand and Lloyd Doyley from suspension and a hamstring injury respectively.
However, Marco Faraoni (ankle) now faces a couple of weeks in the treatment room and joins Almen Abdi (foot), Essaid Belkalem and Tommie Hoban (both ankle) on the sidelines.

Head To Head
Ipswich and Watford have met 66 times in all competitions. Both teams have won 25 matches and there have been 16 draws.
Both meetings last season ended in away wins, when neither side scored a home goal. Watford won 2-0 at Portman Road after Ipswich had won 1-0 at Watford.
Watford have not lost on any of their last eight visits to Portman Road, a run stretching back to March 2004. They have won on six of those last eight visits and are looking for a fourth consecutive win at Ipswich.
None of the team's last seven meetings have ended in a draw.

Ipswich Town
Ipswich are unbeaten in their last four. A run of three consecutive wins ended with a 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest last weekend.
Ipswich's 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest last weekend was the first time this season they had been involved in a 0-0 draw.
They are looking for a third consecutive home win, and have scored in all but 1 of their 10 home matches so far in all competitions.

Watford
Manager Gianfranco Zola left Watford on Monday after a run of nine games without a win. They lost 1-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday in Zola's final match on charge.
Watford have drawn their last four away games, each by a different score, 1-1 at Brighton, 2-2 at Middlesbrough, 0-0 at Burnley and 3-3 at Leeds. All these matches were in the Championship.
Watford have scored two or more goals in six of their 11 away matches played in all competitions this season.

Derby's leading goalscorer Chris Martin is an injury concern after suffering a shin injury in training.England Under-21 international Will Hughes is set to return to the squad as Steve McClaren's side go in search of seventh successive league victory. Doncaster's on-loan QPR full-back Yun Suk-Young has resumed training after his recent ankle injury.
Harry Forrester is available for selection as he aims to make only his second league appearance of the season.....Derby have an injury concern over their leading scorer Chris Martin ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet Championship clash with Doncaster at the iPro Stadium.Martin took a whack on the shin in training this week and the 13-goal striker will be assessed ahead of the game on Saturday as the fourth-placed Rams look to record a seventh successive league victory - something the club last achieved during the promotion-winning season of 1995/96.
Will Hughes is set to return to the squad after missing last weekend's win at Charlton through illness. Jeff Hendrick replaced the England Under-21 international against the Addicks and completed his first 90 minutes of senior football since August, having recovered from an ankle injury.
On-loan defender Zak Whitbread continues to work his way back from a calf injury that has kept him out of action since October.
Yun Suk-Young and Harry Forrester, meanwhile, could be pushing for places in the Doncaster squad.
Suk-Young resumed training last week after a month out with an ankle injury and the on-loan QPR full-back has a chance of being involved on Saturday, while forward Forrester has been blighted by a series of problems since signing for Rovers in the summer.
Midfielder Paul Keegan is another player likely to come back into contention over the Christmas period with manager Paul Dickov believing that early in the new year his squad will be as close to full fitness as it has been at any stage this season.
If Doncaster were to revert to a 4-4-2 formation at the iPro Stadium that could mean a recall for Mark Duffy, or a wide right role for former Ram Theo Robinson.

Head To Head
This is only the 22nd meeting between Derby and Doncaster in all competitions. There has never been a 0-0 draw between the teams.
Derby completed a Championship double over Doncaster the last time the teams were in the same division - winning 3-0 here before a 2-1 win at the Keepmoat in 2011/12.
The last eight meetings between the teams have produced 24 goals.

Derby County
Derby have found the net on 42 occasions so far this season and are the leading Championship goalscorers.
The Rams are seeking a seventh consecutive win in the Championship.
This is their longest run of consecutive victories since they won eight in a row in all competitions between December - February 2006-07.
The best Championship run by any team this season is seven straight wins for Burnley in September and October.

Doncaster Rovers
Doncaster have lost their last two matches by the same 3-0 scoreline, away at Bolton and at home to Leeds
Their only win from 10 away matches played in the Championship was a 1-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday in September.
Doncaster have scored just one goal in their last five away matches and have not scored more than one in an away fixture since a 2-2 draw at Wigan on 20 August.

Goalkeeper Adam Bodgan and Joe Riley (both knee) are still out but Stuart Holden has returned to training. Charlton will be without Ben Hamer (ankle), Johnnie Jackson and Marvin Sordell for the trip to the Reebok.Jackson is suspended and Sordell is ineligible against his parent club....Bolton boss Dougie Freedman is flirting with the idea of starting Mark Davies in Saturday's Sky Bet Championship clash with Charlton at the Reebok Stadium.
The midfielder was given a huge ovation by the significant travelling contingent at Wigan last Sunday when he made his first appearance since February as a substitute in the final 10 minutes, and Freedman now believes he is ready to play from the first whistle following his knee injury.
United States international Stuart Holden has linked up with the squad again as part of the rehabilitation from his own knee injury, but he will not start training again properly until the new year.
A similar timescale has been given to goalkeeper Adam Bodgan while fellow knee-injury victim Joe Riley (knee) and Marc Tierney (foot) are also still absent.
Charlton, meanwhile, will be without Ben Hamer, Johnnie Jackson and Marvin Sordell.
Goalkeeper Hamer has yet to recover from the ankle injury he suffered last month so Ben Alnwick continues between the sticks.
Skipper Jackson is in the middle of a three-match ban after he was sent off at Yeovil a fortnight ago and striker Sordell is ineligible to play under the terms of his loan from the Reebok Stadium.
Leon Cort remains sidelined by a knee injury but fellow defender Chris Solly was an unused substitute against Derby last weekend following his knee problem and should be involved again.

Charlton have not won at Bolton since a Premier League victory there in August 2002. They have not won on any of their subsequent five visits.
Five of the last six meetings between the clubs have been won by the team playing at home.

Defensive duo Bradley Orr (thigh) and Gary MacKenzie (hip) are out but Neal Bishop returns from suspension....Burnley have no new injury or suspension concerns to contend with ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet Championship clash with Blackpool at Turf Moor.
Winger Ross Wallace remains the only injury absentee for Sean Dyche's side with a knee problem continuing to keep him on the sidelines.
The 28-year-old had targeted a return around December or January and Dyche insists that while he is making good progress, caution must be exercised with such a serious injury.
The Clarets surrendered top spot in the division following a draw with fellow high-fliers Leicester last weekend, a result which allowed QPR to steal a march on their two nearest rivals and return to the summit.
Isaiah Osbourne, meanwhile, is the latest injury casualty for Blackpool.
The midfielder has been ruled out for five weeks with a hamstring strain, meaning he joins full-back Bradley Orr (thigh) and centre-back Gary MacKenzie (hip) on the sidelines.
Craig Cathcart, now fully recovered from his knee injury, is considered touch and go after the defender strained his back in the week but utility man Neal Bishop has returned from suspension.

Blackpool
Blackpool are looking to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat after losing their last three matches against Yeovil, Derby and QPR. They last lost four league games in a row in the Premier League in 2010-11, when they endured a run of five straight defeats in January and February 2011.

It is a tough task for the unfancied Moroccans to overcome the reigning European champions but they will be roared on by a partisan crowd in Marrakech.
"This is not just about Raja, or any city in particular, this is about Morocco as a whole," said Raja midfielder Kouko Guehi. "All the club presidents came here to support us, all of Morocco supports us and that is truly heart warming.
"We will need the best of us to (win),'' Raja coach Faouzi Benzarti.
"We will fight in this final, show them that we are men, warriors. We are going to fight on all fronts to win this final."
Raja became only the second African club to reach the final by pulling off a stunning 3-1 win against Brazil's Atletico Mineiro - a team which featured two-time World Footballer of the Year Ronaldinho.
And they will take confidence into the match despite having a squad that sits only mid-table in the Moroccan league and cost a mere £7.9m to assemble, compared to the £408m splashed out by Bayern.
On paper, the game seems to be the biggest mismatch in the history of the competition.
While Bayern are unbeaten in the Bundesliga since October last year, Raja's results in the Moroccan league have been so bad that they fired coach Mohamed Fakhir earlier this month.
However, new coach Faouzi Benzarti has made an instant impact.
"He's definitely got the best out of us and given us fresh confidence after an unfortunate run of results," forward Mouhssine Iajour said.
"His approach is more attack-minded than our previous coach. He always wants us to attack, no matter what the state of the game is."
Benzarti's own words leave no room for doubt that he will not send his team out to sit back.
"We will need the best of us to win. We know the character of the German teams. We should not let them attack us all the time," he said.
Whether Raja will get the chance to attack Bayern depends on their ability to defy the odds again and play the game of their lives.
Only in the tournament as champions of the host nation, Raja's run has been remarkable but few people would back them against Bayern.
The Germans were given byes until the semi-final stage, where they showed their quality by sweeping aside Asian champions Guangzhou Evergrande of China 3-0.

However, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has warned the club to be on their guard.
"Everyone expected Atletico Mineiro to make the final. No-one, not even here in Morocco, thought Casablanca would make it,'' he said. "It's a surprise to everyone, us included.
"There can be no complacency and arrogance just because they're not well-known in the footballing world.
"But the Bayern team is too stable, has too much good character, and the coach is too ambitious this year. All of them want this trophy. It would mean we've won everything there is to win."
The Germans have already won the Champions League, Bundesliga, German Cup and Uefa Super Cup.
"Getting to the final was a must,'' Bayern captain Philipp Lahm said. "It gives us the opportunity to get our hands on another trophy.''

The board cited a 'disappointing points return during this calendar year', and a fourth straight defeat at the Cardiff City Stadium proved to be the final straw.
The result left West Brom just two points above the relegation zone in 16th place and, while there has been plenty of speculation about who could now take charge, it will be down to caretaker boss Keith Downing to try and arrest the slide against Hull.
The visiting Tigers are four points better off than Albion and have been in decent form over the past few weeks to establish a position in mid-table.

Having beaten Liverpool and drawn with Swansea City and Stoke City already in December, they will be looking to push on over the festive period and further boost their survival hopes, with two home games to come after Christmas.

West Brom
Goalkeeper Ben Foster could return from a foot injury for West Brom's clash with Hull.
The England international has not featured since August 24, but caretaker boss Downing has said the 30-year-old is in line to face the Tigers.
Downing has no injury worries to contend with.

Hull City
Robbie Brady is out of Hull's match against West Brom with a groin injury.
The Republic of Ireland midfielder is now doubtful for all of the Tigers' matches over the Christmas period, with the injury continuing to cause problems.
Sone Aluko (Achilles) and Stephen Quinn (hamstring) remain long-term absentees.

Paul Merson's prediction
When I heard Steve Clarke had been sacked I was majorly shocked at first, but when you saw his stats for the whole year then it made sense. People remember his first six months and the win at Old Trafford, but bar that results haven't been good.
Things might be different if the ref hadn't given a silly penalty at Chelsea or if Stephane Sessegnon hadn't missed a sitter against Villa or if the Cardiff goalkeeper hasn't made a worldy save. It just shows the fine margins that can cost someone a job!
Hull are a decent, well-organised team but I expect a reaction from West Brom.

However, the Black Cats have not won in five Premier League games since beating Manchester City 1-0 at home and currently sit bottom of the table.
The fixture is part of a hectic period for the hosts, which, including the Capital One Cup win, sees them play six games in 19 days, something which manager Gus Poyet recently bemoaned.
Norwich, meanwhile, have claimed seven points in their last four matches, with striker Gary Hooper scoring in three of those games.

A win could see the Canaries rise as high as 10th in the Premier League, who have history on their side with 19 wins in this fixture compared to Sunderland's 11. There have been 12 draws
The visitors have conceded 29 goals this season, the third-worst in the division, however just 10 of these have come against clubs currently outside the top four.

Sunderland
Sunderland will welcome back midfielder Jack Colback and striker Steven Fletcher after the pair missed their Capital One Cup triumph through illness.
Colback has missed just one of his team's games this season, although he has yet to score for goal-shy Sunderland.
Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood (shoulder) and defender Carlos Cuellar (hip) are the only long-term injury worries for the Black Cats.

Norwich
Striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel (toe) is expected to be back in the squad after 10 matches out, whilst goalkeeper Mark Bunn (ankle) and midfielder Robert Snodgrass (knee) could feature.
£8.5 million striker van Wolfswinkel picked up his injury against Cardiff in October, but is set for a return in time for the Christmas period as the Canaries' injury list shortens.
However Elliott Bennett (knee), Anthony Pilkington (hamstring) and Alexander Tettey (ankle) remain out until into the New Year.

Paul Merson's prediction
This game is like a cup final. It's a big game for Norwich, but it's 100 times more important for Sunderland because they have to win. They had to play extra time in midweek, but they came through that and rode their luck so fair play to them.
There looks to be a good team spirit there and I've seen enough from them in that game to suggest they will be good enough to win this important match. I really fancy them.

Although neither side are being billed as candidates for the drop, defeat at the weekend combined with surrounding results could leave one of them teetering on the brink.Contrastingly, victory at the Britannia would provide either side with the perfect springboard heading into an intense festive period which sees the fixtures come thick and fast.
Mark Hughes' Stoke are five points above the dreaded drop zone and have a challenging time ahead, with a trip to in-form Newcastle leading into a meeting with Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Boxing Day.
The Potters recent form suggests they are full of heart; drawing four and winning two of their last seven outings, albeit lacking defensive gusto, conceding 10 goals in the same period.
Villa's form almost mirrors that of their opponents, with Paul Lambert's men winning two, drawing three and losing two.
Worryingly for Lambert, those two defeats have come in consecutive matches, losing to Fulham and Manchester United in recent weeks, conceding five goals and failing to find the net in the process.
However, with just one point separating the sides, Villa will view Saturday's clash as the ideal opportunity to regain their winning form and leapfrog Stoke.

If the visitors are to buck the trend, striker Christian Benteke will be expected to rediscover the rich vein of form which saw him score 19 Premier League goals last term, with the Belgian without a goal in his last 11 hours and 59 minutes of action.

Stoke City
As the Premier League season gathers pace, Stoke boss Hughes has his resources stretched with four players unavailable.
Defenders Ryan Shawcross and Robert Huth are both missing through injury for the Potters, as is midfielder Matthew Etherington.
On-loan midfielder Stephen Ireland cannot play against his parent club and while Lambert may not have fancied keeping the Republic of Ireland international at Villa Park, he will be glad to see him sidelined considering his recent purple patch.

Aston Villa
Aston Villa boss Lambert will be without striker Gabriel Agbonlahor after he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season, meaning he is subsequently suspended from Saturday's clash.
There is a boost for Lambert however, in the form of Fabian Delph, who returns to action after completing his ban for the very same reason Agbonlahor must now sit out.
Gary Gardner returned to first-team involvement this week having recovered from a back complaint and fellow midfielder Chris Herd should be fit to play after a facial injury, while Villa captain Ron Vlaar remains a major doubt with a calf injury.

Paul Merson's prediction:
I've been disappointed by Aston Villa in the last couple of weeks. They were atrocious against Fulham and then after the opening 10 minutes against Manchester United they weren't good enough.
I'm also starting to wonder if Christian Benteke is a one-season wonder. Stoke didn't do very well against Man United, but I think they may just have enough to win this at home.

The Villa triumph was sandwiched by UEFA Champions League and Capital One Cup successes against Shakhtar Donetsk and Stoke City.
Manager David Moyes will be concerned by the fitness of Wayne Rooney as the England striker missed Wednesday's 2-0 win at Stoke with a groin injury and with fellow striker Robin van Persie (thigh) on the sidelines, Moyes will be counting on the former Everton man.
"He has got a chance [of playing]," a hopeful said Moyes on Wednesday.
Winger Ashley Young scored his first United goal since May 2012 against Stoke and was named the man-of-the-match. Young could retain his place as a result of that performance for a United side who are hopeful of welcoming back Nemanja Vidic. Marouane Fellaini (back) could also return but fellow midfielder Michael Carrick (calf) will miss out.
West Ham enter the game in good spirits after an excellent come-from-behind 2-1 League Cup quarter-final win at Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday. Matt Jarvis and Modibo Maiga scored in the last 10 minutes for Sam Allardyce's side as they set up a semi-final clash against Manchester City.

West Ham are struggling in the Barclays Premier League though, sitting just one point above the relegation zone in 17th. James Tomkins (groin) did not play at Spurs and could miss out again, while strikers Andy Carroll (ankle), Ricardo Vaz Te (shoulder) and Mladen Petric (calf) are still on the sidelines. Also missing for West Ham are defender Winston Reid (ankle) and winger Stewart Downing (calf), as they go in search of a first win at Old Trafford since 2007.
David Moyes is not about to throw in the towel, though, and a productive run through the busy festive period would help to push United back towards the frontrunners.
West Ham, though, will make the long journey north determined to become the latest side to frustrate the Red Devils in their own backyard.
The Hammers could do with the morale boost a positive result would bring, with only one place and a solitary point keeping them out of the drop zone at present.
Victory at capital rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Capital One Cup quarter-finals in midweek should have them in buoyant mood but points are all that matter to Sam Allardyce's side at present, and they know they have not taken enough of them so far.

The Cottagers sit just one point away from safety and a shock win over high-flying City could see them climb as high as 16th depending on other results.
City are unbeaten in their last five and come into the game in a rich vein of goal-scoring form, having seen off league leaders Arsenal with a stunning 6-3 win last weekend.
Manuel Pellegrini's side have since become the bookmakers' title favourites and three points could see them draw level with the Gunners at the top, depending on the outcome of the game between Liverpool and Cardiff.
Despite recent concerns about their away form, City are now unbeaten in their last four on the road in all competitions and they have avoided defeat to Fulham in their last eight Premier League meetings.
Fulham have managed just one clean sheet in their 22 Premier League games against City and none in the last 18 meetings.
Manchester City have won six and lost none of the last nine matches with Fulham in all competitions.
Darren Bent has scored seven Premier League goals against Man City; only against Bolton (11) has he been more prolific in the competition.

Fulham
Fulham defender Fernando Amorebieta could return to first-team action after missing the last three weeks with a hamstring injury.
However, striker Hugo Rodallega will miss out once again, with the Boxing Day fixture at Norwich pencilled in as his return date from a groin strain.
Rene Meulensteen will also be without defender Brede Hangeland whose back injury will keep him out until the new year.

Man City
City will be without top scorer Sergio Aguero due to a calf injury picked up in last weekend's 6-3 win at Arsenal.
Full-back Pablo Zabaleta will also be absent after limping out of Tuesday night's 3-1 League Cup win at Leicester with a hamstring injury.
Stevan Jovetic (calf) and Matija Nastasic (calf) could both return to Manuel Pellegrini's squad, while defender Micah Richards (hamstring) is likely to remain sidelined.

PAUL MERSON'S PREDICTIONS:
Fulham have been doing okay in recent matches. They played well to beat Aston Villa and they didn't deserve to lose 4-1 against Everton, that result was not a fair reflection. They can't live with Manchester City in this form though.
People say City have got a bad away record, but they have done pretty well in their last two away games against Leicester and Bayern Munich. I can't see past City.

Crystal Palace will be hoping to climb out of the relegation zone as they kick off a busy run of fixtures at home to Newcastle United.Palace's results have picked up over the past few weeks as Tony Pulis has continued the good work started by caretaker boss Keith Millen.
They claimed back-to-back victories over fellow strugglers West Ham United and Cardiff City, before another battling performance last Saturday ended in defeat as they went down 2-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Pulis will know that the festive period is now crucial and will be targeting a win which could lift them out of the bottom three before Christmas, if West Bromwich Albion or West Ham slip up.
It will not be an easy task against Newcastle, though, with Alan Pardew's men currently sixth in the table after an excellent run of form.

A 1-1 draw at home to Southampton last time out kept the momentum going following their famous 1-0 success at Manchester United a week earlier, and the Magpies remain in a good position to challenge for a European spot.
They are five points off the top four at present but ahead of both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, with a game at home to Stoke City to look forward to on Boxing Day.

Paul Merson's prediction
Crystal Palace have been doing well under Tony Pulis and they were competitive against Chelsea last week.
I watched Newcastle's game with Southampton for Soccer Saturday and it was a good match.
When Newcastle get all their players out on the pitch - Yohan Cabaye in particular - they are a very good team. I've been impressed with them this season and I think they will win here.

Celtic prepare to entertain Heart of Midlothian at Celtic Park at lunchtime on Saturday, looking to continue an impressive record. The Bhoys are clearly on top, having won 93 and lost only 21 of the 150 games.
The most recent encounter between these two sides at Celtic Park was less than a year ago, in January 2013, when they eased past their opponents in a high-scoring 4-1 thriller, in a Scottish Premiership match.
Celtic have won 17 of their last 19 league games at home, drawing the other two.
Only Ross County (2) have picked up fewer points away from home this season than Hearts (4; W1 D1 L6).
Neil Lennon’s side have won their last seven league clashes with Hearts, keeping five clean sheets and conceding just two goals in total.
Hearts have lost nine of their last 12 league games (W1 D2).

Celtic are the only side in the Premiership yet to drop any points from leading positions this season.
No side have used fewer players this season than Hearts (18; level with Inverness).
Celtic are 'The Untouchables' says Hearts assistant manager Billy Brown.

Leicester City must tighten up defensively if they are to topple Championship leaders and promotion rivals QPR on Saturday, says Ignasi Miquel. The centre-back, on loan from Arsenal, admits City have been conceding soft goals in the last few games and contributed themselves to the three goals Manchester City fired past them as they eased into the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.
Manuel Pellegrini's side were ruthless in punishing City's defensive mistakes, and Miquel said City must improve when they travel to Loftus Road.
"Everyone knows about Man City, they've been great the last few seasons and they came here and I don't think the three goals were good enough," he said.
"I was disappointed with the way we conceded the goals, we could have done much better with all three of them. But this is what happens when you play against a big club, and they punished us.
"They have been on a great run so we knew it would be a tough game – but we should have done better."
Miquel said the clash against QPR had become a huge game for City as they look to get back to winning ways ahead of the Christmas fixtures.
"It's massive," he said. "That game, if we win, we just bounce back.
"It's been in the background for us and we now want to get back on Saturday and win.
"I think we definitely need to improve defensively at QPR. We conceded three goals so it's something we have to improve at.
"Saturday's game is as big as (the Man City) one. We need to win, to bounce back against QPR.
"They are top of the league and we need to hit them and get back into the league."
Manager Nigel Pearson has rotated his defensive options in recent weeks and Miquel said all the defenders must be ready when called on.

"At the back, any of us can get the call to get in the team so, every time I get the chance, I will give my best," added Miquel.
"This busy time is not hard, everyone just enjoys it. That's why we're here – to play big games.
"Everyone wants to get in the team and get game-time and enjoy it. It's not hard at all."

Liverpool are still without captain Steven Gerrard, who will not be fit to return to the new year because of his hamstring injury. Manager Brendan Rodgers is also missing striker Daniel Sturridge and defender Jose Enrique. Cardiff await news on whether ex-Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy will be fit to face his former club.
Aside from that, Bluebirds manager Malky Mackay has a fully fit squad to select from.
Meetings between Cardiff and Liverpool don't come along too often. This will be the first since the Welsh club were beaten in the League Cup final of 2012 by virtue of a penalty shoot-out in which only half of the 10 kicks were converted.
That was at Wembley of course, but Cardiff's last visit to Anfield also finished in defeat - 2-1 - also in the League Cup in 2007. You have to go back another 48 years for the next most recent clash, which was surely the most significant of all.
It was 19 December 1959, and a Liverpool team containing boot room legend-to-be Ronnie Moran, future Chelsea boss Bobby Campbell and later World Cup winner Roger Hunt were beaten 4-0 in a Division Two fixture by a Cardiff side heading for promotion that season and helped at Anfield that day by two goals from former Arsenal striker Derek "Tappy" Tapscott. This is all very interesting, but what made this game really significant is that it was the first in which Liverpool were managed by Bill Shankly.
There are quite a few people wondering whether this game, 54 years later almost to the day, might not be the last in which Cardiff are managed by Malky Mackay.
Mackay says he won't quit, and why should he, but it seems that his relationship with majority shareholder Vincent Tan is one very small step from being untenable. Tan, through chief executive Simon Lim, has repeated his assertion that Mackay overspent his summer transfer budget, and that as a result he'll get "not a single penny" to spend in January.
Given that Iain Moody was sacked as head of recruitment for this supposed misdemeanour, it seems a bit petty to have raised it again with the blame now being firmly placed at Mackay's door.
If Tan sacks Mackay, and who'd bet against it, he guarantees himself a storm of protest from fans already being peddled shirts that are red instead of blue. He guarantees himself a major headache in finding a credible replacement willing to work under his regime, and he might just guarantee himself a swift return to the Championship. Like Moody, Mackay would not be out of work for long.
Players, managers and owners tend to come and go; some all too quickly and some not quickly enough, but Cardiff's magnificently vocal supporters deserve better.

Head-to-head
Cardiff have won on eight of their 15 visits to play at Anfield in all competitions.
Their last meeting in any competition was the League Cup final in 2012. Liverpool won on penalties after the match finished 2-2 following extra time.
Cardiff have won twice as many matches as Liverpool in their previous 30 encounters. Cardiff have won 18 times and Liverpool nine, with three draws.

Liverpool
Luis Suarez has scored 17 goals in 11 league games this season, which is more than 10 of the 20 teams in the Premier League.
Liverpool have scored 25 Premier League goals before half-time this season, more than any other side.
The Reds have scored 14 goals in their last three league games and have scored 79 goals in 2013 - four more than Man City.
They have scored three or more goals in three consecutive top-flight league matches for the first time for 26 years, when they set a club record of four matches with four or more goals in 1987.
Liverpool have had the most goals scored by English players in the league this season (16).

Cardiff
The Bluebirds have won four matches this season in the Premier League, and they have all been by a one-goal margin.
They have failed to score a first-half goal in 13 Premier League matches this season - the joint-most in the top flight.
Peter Whittingham's 65th-minute goal against West Brom last weekend ended a run of 335 minutes in the Premier League without one.
