Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter is a doubt and Ryan Allsop is set to replace the ineligible Lee Camp in goal. Defender Steve Cook could return to the side from a recent hamstring injury and winger Mohamed Coulibaly is also closing in on a comeback.
Burton Albion will check on striker Michael Symes, who has a knee injury.
Wolves winger Zeli Ismail is ineligible for having featured in the competition for his parent club, but on-loan Wigan defender Adam Buxton can play.
The winners will earn a home tie against Premier League side Liverpool in the next round.
This game was set to be played on Saturday, 4 January but was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
This is only the fourth time that Bournemouth have played Burton in all competitions, with Bournemouth winning all of the previous three meetings without conceding. Their only previous FA Cup meeting ended in an 8-0 win for Bournemouth in November 1956. At the time Bournemouth were in Division Three (South) and Burton were in the Birmingham and District League.
That 8-0 win signalled the start of Bournemouth's best ever FA Cup run. They went on to reach the quarter-finals in 1956-57, beating Wolves and Tottenham before losing to Manchester United.
Thirty years ago, in 1984, Bournemouth enjoyed arguably their most famous FA Cup third round victory when they beat Manchester United, then the holders, 2-0 at Dean Court. Bournemouth were a Third Division team at the time.
A victory over Bournemouth will see Burton match their best ever FA Cup run. They reached the fourth round in 2011.
