Birmingham have been handed a boost with veteran striker Peter Lovenkrands and midfielder Tom Adeyemi returning to contention. And the Blues have secured permission to play loanee Manchester City forward Albert Rusnak. Pablo Hernandez and Jonathan de Guzman are set to return from injury for Swansea.
But Nathan Dyer, Michel Vorm, Michu, Jose Canas and Garry Monk are all out of contention.
Birmingham boss Lee Clark, whose side sit just five points clear of the Championship relegation zone, promised his side would aim to win the fixture.
"I will be putting out players to win the game on Saturday because it would be a great feather in our cap if we could beat Swansea," he said.
"It's not just about the cup. Winning becomes a good habit and going on an unbeaten run is a good habit and I will be sending the players out to try and do that."
Michael Laudrup, whose Swans are also battling the drop in the league above, also pledged to field a strong side: "In every game, I will try to have a competitive team whether I make two, five or seven changes.
"The team tomorrow will also be competitive and hopefully move on in the competition.
"If you win, it always gives us something to take on to the next game. I hope that will be the case as we all know Tuesday against Fulham is a key game in the league."

The only previous FA Cup meeting between these sides was in the Third Round in 1950. Swansea won the game 3-0 at their old ground the Vetch Field.
This is the second cup meeting of the season between Birmingham and Swansea, who met in the Capital One Cup in September. Birmingham beat the holders 3-1 at St. Andrew's.
Birmingham have finished as runners-up twice in this competition - in 1931 and 1956.
The furthest Swansea have ever been in the FA Cup is the semi-final stage, which they reached in 1926 and 1964.
