Extending his unbeaten start to life as Bayern coach to 11 games would break a record set by Branko Zebec in 1968.
Furthermore, Bayern can extend their unbeaten record to 36 games this weekend, matching Hamburg's record from 1982 to 1983.
"We're really looking forward to it," said Hoffenheim coach Markus Gisdol, who is keen to throw a spanner in the works at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena.
"This is a very special game for us, but not as much so for Bayern. We want to do everything we can to send out a signal."
His side have emitted enough signals this season with the most goals scored - three more than Bayern - and the most conceded also.

"I know that I'm living the dream of many young people, and my own dream, and I'm very grateful for this, and of course I need to pinch myself now and again to see if everything is really true," he told his club's website.
"I have good people around me who pinch me now and again too, and that helps me keep my feet on the ground."
A loan spell at Hoffenheim also helped launch his career, but he has warned his former club to expect a hungry and revitalised Bayern on Saturday.
"Having a week off has allowed us to really get our breath back," Alaba added. "This week was also important psychologically.
Bayern Munich go in search of more records when they head to Hoffenheim on Saturday.
