Fulham are without injured pair Hugo Rodallega and captain Brede Hangeland, who has a nerve problem in his leg.Martin Jol made nine changes for the League Cup in midweek and the likes of Sascha Riether, Scott Parker, Pajtim Kasami and Dimitar Berbatov will all be pushing for recalls.Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck again misses out with a knee problem.David Moyes may decide to rotate his squad with Tuesday's Champions League trip to Real Sociedad in mind.
Almost the first thing new Fulham owner Shahid Khan did on getting the keys to the Cottage was to get rid of MJ.
That was the gruesome, gaudy, waxy-faced but nonetheless lifelike statue of Michael Jackson which had prompted many a smirk from fans meandering behind the Riverside Stand.
If you believe what you read, the next MJ to go could be Martin Jol, on the basis that a manager is never more vulnerable than when a new owner gets his feet under the table.
However Khan's own recent experiences just might encourage him to stick with what he's got.
In 2012, the Illinois-based multi-gazillionaire bought the Jacksonville Jaguars, commonly considered to be the worst team in the NFL. Two coaches and a season and a half later, they are still commonly considered to be the worst team in the NFL: 14 defeats in 16 games last season and eight losses in eight this season.
Despite this cautionary tale, Khan's own page on the Fulham website describes him as having "captured the imagination and respect of the sports world in the USA and beyond" since his ownership of the Jaguars. I wonder, would everyone in Jacksonville agree?
Hopefully Fulham's CEO, the eminently sensible Alistair Mackintosh, will be a guiding hand on the Fulham tiller and keep Jol in charge.
Meantime, Manchester United have put together three successive wins, although Stoke went home cursing their luck a week ago.
It's a step in the right direction, despite there being a mood of trepidation rather than triumph these days among some United fans. The presence of the Ferdinand/Vidic axis at the back is usually a nerve-settler and both started against Norwich in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.
United have a tough run coming up with a home match with Arsenal and away matches at Cardiff, Tottenham and Moyes' super-motivated old-boys Everton. Already eight points off the pace, they have no margin for error at Craven Cottage.

Head-to-head
Manchester United have won the last five league meetings between the teams, and the last six in all competitions.
Fulham have only beaten United three times in 24 Premier League meetings.

Fulham
Fulham have won just one of their four home league matches this season, beating Stoke 1-0 at the beginning of October.
After winning just one of their first six league games this season, Fulham have won two of the last three.
Fulham have scored just four goals in their four league games at Craven Cottage this season. They scored 10 in their first four last season.

Manchester United
They are looking to win consecutive league matches for the first time this season.
United have 14 points after nine games this season, as opposed to 21 after their first nine matches in 2012-13.
Only five different players have scored for United in this season's Premier League; 13 different names were on the scoresheet in the first nine games of last season.
