Paris St Germain midfielder Thiago Motta is urging his team-mates to respond to the challenge of another would-be giant-killer by showing character to beat Lorient.
The reigning Ligue 1 champions were fortunate to maintain their unbeaten record as Blaise Matuidi's last-minute goal rescued a 2-2 draw at St Etienne last time out.
Lorient may be struggling at the wrong end of the table - they are 17th, three points above the relegation zone - but Motta knows any slip-up against the Breton club would likely allow title rivals Monaco to take top spot.
The Italy international told his club's official website: ``In the end, I think a draw was a fair result.
``The main thing was our ability to fight back, to get a goal back and then equalise in the final stages. Now we need to concentrate on Friday's match against Lorient.
``There will always be teams like St Etienne that give it everything and cause us problems and it's up to us to answer the challenge.''
Motta knows that PSG would not have won seven of their 11 games so far had it not been for the resilience of the group.
``That is one of this side's biggest strengths,'' he added. ``We also proved it against Marseille, when we found ourselves down to 10 men.
``This ability to bounce back in the face of adversity is what I'd like take from the game.
``It will serve us well because we will often find ourselves up against sides prepared to give everything to knock us off course so it's a good thing to be able to fight back in the face of adversity.''
Coach Laurent Blanc is demanding a better performance from Marquinhos after criticising the defender for several mistakes he made in the draw at St Etienne.
The Brazilian will keep his place regardless, however, as countryman Thiago Silva remains unavailable through injury.
Lorient are unbeaten at the Parc des Princes in three visits but based on this season's form, Les Merlus might expect a tougher night in the capital.
A run of five defeats in six came to end when Sochaux left the north-west side 2-1 losers at the weekend, though, and Jeremie Aliadiere is feeling better.
``In our situation, taking the three points was the important thing,'' the Lorient striker told L'Equipe. ``It was important to get out of the relegation zone and move forward.
``We also needed to catch up with the teams ahead of us. That was a good mental boost, especially before going to Paris, where we know it will be tough.
``It's certainly easier to go there with three points.''
