Nottingham Forest prepare to entertain Huddersfield Town at City Ground on Saturday afternoon,

The most recent encounter between these two sides at City Ground was less than a year ago, in February 2013, with Nottingham Forest annihilating their visitors 6-1 in a Championship match.

Defender Jonathan Hogg, signed from Watford for an undisclosed fee, is likely to make his debut and Adam Hammill is hoping to start following his arrival from Wolves. The winger spent four months on loan with Huddersfield last season.

The departure of Lewis McGugan has been offset by the summer arrivals of forwards Jamie Paterson, Djamel Abdoun and Jamie Mackie, while full-back Eric Lichaj and goalkeeper Dorus De Vries have also been brought in.

Striker Darius Henderson and defender Gonzalo Jara Reyes have signed permanent deals with the Reds having been on loan at the club last season.

Martin Paterson and James Vaughan are expected to form a new-look strikeforce for Huddersfield.

Former Burnley forward Paterson could start alongside Vaughan, who signed a permanent deal with the club this summer after his loan from Norwich last season.

Forwards Jamie Paterson, Djamel Abdoun and Jamie Mackie, full-back Eric Lichaj and goalkeeper Dorus de Vries are all potential debutants.

Nottingham Forest

Formed in 1865, Nottingham Forest - the oldest club in the Championship - embark on their 50th season of second level league football and sixth in a row.

Last season's 1-0 win over Bristol City was the first time in six seasons they had scored on the opening day of a league campaign.

Forest have scored a total of 199 goals in their two spells under Billy Davies.

Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield consolidated in their first second tier season in 12 years, finishing three places and four points above the drop zone in May.

The Terriers failed to score in an opening league fixture for the first time in 10 years last season.

Mark Robins is starting his first full season in charge at the John Smiths Stadium.
