Norwich manager Chris Hughton is expected to give a debut to new loan signing Jonas Gutierrez.
The Canaries are also boosted by the return of Anthony Pilkington and Alex Tettey after long spells on the sidelines.
Hull boss Steve Bruce is expected to have his two new signings, Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long, available for selection.
However, they are still without forward Sone Aluko and midfielder Robbie Brady.
Little cures a football fan's 'January blues' like the signing of not one - but two - new strikers. If it weren't for the sideshow of Hull's controversial re-naming bid, then Assem Allam would surely be the most popular man on Humberside.
The fans may not like the prospect of becoming 'Tigers' next season, but they can't really argue with how the owner has reached for his chequebook again to bring in Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long.
Neither player has been a regular starter for their old club this season and both represent something of a risk when you look at their recent goal tallies. Jelavic hadn't scored at all for Everton in nine appearances this campaign prior to netting twice in his final game for the club against QPR in the FA Cup. Long only scored in two of his 17 games for West Brom this season.
Norwich City know all about the risks of bringing in a new strike partnership. Despite a combined outlay of over £13m, Gary Hooper and Ricky van Wolfswinkel have only managed six Premier League goals between them this season.
Norwich City know all about the risks of bringing in a new strike partnership. Despite a combined outlay of over £13m, Gary Hooper and Ricky van Wolfswinkel have only managed six Premier League goals between them this season.
Van Wolfswinkel, especially, has been a disappointment so far. He got 45 goals over the previous two seasons at Sporting Lisbon, which was enough to earn a call-up to the Dutch national side. Since arriving in the Premier League, the forward has only managed a total of four shots on target.
I was at Goodison Park last weekend when Norwich were all perspiration and not enough inspiration as they were beaten 2-0. That was a sixth consecutive league game without a win, and the Canaries have managed just three goals in those six fixtures.
Hull really seemed to have turned a corner when they beat Fulham 6-0 just after Christmas, but their two league fixtures since have not been conducive to building momentum. They lost against two of the top four, in the shape of Liverpool and Chelsea.
The congested nature of the bottom half of the Premier League means that although Hull go into this weekend in the top 10, they are only six points above the foot of the table.
The outcome of this game could be huge for Norwich. A victory might lift them to mid-table, but defeat could - theoretically - see them bottom by the end of the weekend.

Head-to-head
Hull have only lost one of their last eight games against Norwich.
All but two of the last eight encounters have ended in 1-1 or 2-1 scorelines.
Hull beat Norwich 1-0 in August in what was their first-ever meeting in the top flight.
There has not been more than a total of three goals scored in a match between these sides in their last 23 encounters.

Norwich City
Norwich have not won at Carrow Road since beating Crystal Palace on 30 November.
The Canaries have only scored more than once in three of their 21 Premier League fixtures this season.
They have picked up just four points from a possible 33 against top-half opposition.
There have been fewer goals at Carrow Road (21) than any other Premier League stadium this season.
They are the only Premier League team yet to have a substitute score for them this season.

Hull City
No team has picked up fewer away points than Hull's five this season (level with Stoke).
Hull have never won a Premier League match in the month of January (D3, L6).
They have only scored more than one goal in four of their 21 matches this season.
The Tigers have attempted only 158 shots, fewer than any other team.
