Yannick Bolasie faces a fitness test on a groin problem, while Kagisho Dikgacoi and Jerome Thomas are both out.
Stoke's Kenwyne Jones will not be involved as a result of his refusal to play against Liverpool last weekend.
New loan signing John Guidetti is in the squad and Oussama Assaidi returns after missing out last weekend under the terms of his loan deal.
Imagine the scenario when Tony Pulis was mulling over whether to become the new Crystal Palace manager. He presumably assessed the squad, had a look at what would be his first few matches should he accept the challenge, and then, surely, will have examined the rest of the season's fixtures for when Palace would meet Stoke.
That time is this weekend, when the man who took charge of Stoke in 464 matches in two spells at the club comes up against the Potters for the first time since leaving at the end of last season.
Pulis has said how much he is looking forward to facing a club he led with such distinction, but he desperately needs a win over his old side in what is his 200th game as a Premier League manager.
Palace slipped to bottom place in the Premier League after the 2-0 defeat at Tottenham last weekend, yet they are only five points behind Stoke in 12th.
Stoke's only away win this season came at West Ham way back at the end of August, but they have returned to Staffordshire with victories from their last two league matches at Selhurst Park - albeit in 2006 and 2007.
Cameron Jerome is ineligible to play against the club he is on loan from, so Dwight Gayle may well come into Palace's team.
The big question though, is who will take a penalty for Palace should they get one. If Gayle is on the pitch, I'd put plenty of money on it being him rather than Jason Puncheon!

Head-to-head
Stoke won 2-1 in the first-ever Premier League meeting between the sides back in August.
The Potters are unbeaten in their last three visits to Selhurst Park, including a 0-0 draw in the FA Cup last season.
Tony Pulis managed Stoke for 464 games in two spells in charge, winning 169, losing 165 and drawing 130.

Crystal Palace
Palace have won just one of their last six Premier League matches.
They have scored only seven goals from open play in the league; eight players in the division have more.
They have kept five clean sheets in their last 10 matches, conceding only 10 goals.
Mile Jedinak has made an average of 6.9 tackles/interceptions per match this season, the highest total in the Premier League.

Stoke City
Stoke conceded five goals in a top-flight match last weekend for the first time since March 1982. Both of those games were against Liverpool.
Peter Crouch scored Stoke's first headed goal of the season against Liverpool in what was their 21st fixture.
The Potters have conceded five penalties in the league this season, a joint high with Everton and Crystal Palace.
They have conceded a total of 14 goals in their last four Premier League games.
