McDermott made six changes for the midweek Capital One Cup win at Doncaster, most notably handing debuts to recent signing Scott Wootton in central defence and teenage midfielder Alex Mowatt.
The Whites boss, who has no new injury problems, must decide whether to recall Tom Lees at centre-half, right-back Stephen Warnock and midfield pair Luke Murphy and Paul Green, while strikers Noel Hunt and Luke Varney were also rested on Tuesday night.
Leeds remain unbeaten this season and could go top of the table with victory over Harry Redknapp's side.
Junior Hoilett could return to the QPR squad for the trip to Leeds.
The winger has been out for a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury but has resumed training.
New signing Matt Phillips is closing in on a return to action having also taken some part in training following an arm injury, but he is set to see a specialist before confirming his availability.
Goalkeeper Robert Green, defender Richard Dunne and midfielders Karl Henry, Joey Barton and Gary O'Neil were rested for the midweek Capital One Cup defeat by Swindon and are poised to return.
