Celtic return to Scottish Premiership duty this weekend at Tannadice, after a hectic but extremely satisfying week, which saw them successfully overturn a 2-0 deficit against Kazakh side Shakhter Karagandy at Celtic Park to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League, for the second successive season under Neil Lennon. The Hoops also completed a £700,000 deal for Israeli midfielder Nir Biton from FC Ashdod, making him Lennon's fifth signing of the summer after Amido Balde, Virgil van Dijk, Derk Boerrigter and Steven Mouyokolo.

It also looks extremely likely that Celtic will sign Schalke and Finland striker Teemu Pukki in time for the Scottish transfer deadline tomorrow night, but it is unknown whether or not the transfer will be completed in time for him to feature in the game tomorrow afternoon in Dundee. The Finnish hitman was having a medical in Glasgow today and could be officially confirmed as a Celtic player as early as tonight. It will be a clash of modern day Celtic heroes in the dugout tomorrow too, as Lennon prepares to take on his former team mate Jackie McNamara in a battle of wits and tactics. Old friendships will be put aside for 90 minutes as the two sides do battle on the pitch, and Dundee United will know that Celtic tend to be at their most vulnerable on the weekend after a European excursion. If they can take full advantage of that, then they may find themselves racking up all three points.

Gavin Gunning returns from a two match suspension for Dundee United and is expected to start from the beginning tomorrow, although fellow defender Calum Butcher has a dead leg and midfielder Ryan Dow is suffering from a groin strain, rendering them both unavailable.

Celtic seemingly have a full squad to choose from and have no real injury worries of their own, although there could be a few key players rested after the heroic 3-0 victory on Wednesday night, which secured Champions League football until at least December for the club.
