Team News:
Manchester United face Real Sociedad in Spain tonight looking to stay on top of Group A. The two teams met at Old Trafford a fortnight ago and United came out on top thanks to Inigo Martinez’s own goal after 69 seconds – the fastest own goal in Champions League history. Sociedad are fighting to keep their Champions League campaign alive as Jagoba Arrasate’s side have failed to take a single point from their opening three Group A fixtures. Here we look at where the game might be won and lost.
The 24-year-old England international went off during Saturday's 3-1 win at Craven Cottage but trained before the team flew to Spain on Monday.
"We haven't had a lot of injuries," said Manchester United manager David Moyes.
"I think it's the best Manchester United have been in that respect for a while. But we did pick up three on Saturday, which is very rare - especially by half-time.
"Two of them haven't travelled - Jonny Evans and Rafael - so they're not with us."
United top Group A with seven points from three games, while Sociedad are bottom and without a point.
"I won't take anything for granted," added Moyes.
"I have a lot of respect for Sociedad. We have to play well if we're going to get those 10 points, which will get us over the line. We've got ourselves into a good position in the group and we have to try to maintain that.
"I think our experienced players have shown they're used to the Champions League."
Vela is no stranger to English football fans after a stint at Arsenal between 2005 and 2011, but the Mexican showed his best form when away from English shores on loan. The 24-year-old striker had a successful loan period at Sociedad before making his move permanent and has not looked back since. He has five goals this season and his quick feet and decision making in the final third is key to Sociedad’s hopes. United captain Vidic, who looked all at sea during the drubbing City handed his team in the Manchester derby, will have to lead from the front to nullify Vela’s attacking prowess.

Valencia was one of United’s most dangerous outlets in the match between the teams at Old Trafford – hitting a post and producing an energetic performance to help the hosts win 1-0. The 28-year-old winger scored in the comfortable 3-1 Premier League win at Fulham on Saturday and his athleticism, combined with consistent delivery of driven crosses, makes United a more potent offensive force, However, Valencia will be up against left-back Alberto de la Bella, one player on Tottenham’s transfer radar in the summer. The 27-year-old was an ever present in the Sociedad team that finished fourth in La Liga last season and the club rate him highly judging by his £25million release clause.
