Dale Tempest: Leeds United fans are rubbing their hands about James Vaughan being suspended, but I don’t see Huddersfield Town losing the derby
It's the big Huddersfield Town versus Leeds derby to whet everyone’s appetite today.
Missing James Vaughan is obviously a big blow for Town and all the Leeds fans here at Skybet are rubbing their hands about the fact Town’s leading scorer won’t be playing.
They are expecting a Leeds win, particularly after the 4-0 drubbing of Birmingham, but I don’t see Town losing the game.
Mark Robins has got his team very well organised, it’s been the story of his managerial career that his teams play entertaining football but are very hard to beat, and I think Town will definitely be up for it.
For me, the match is one of the ‘draw bankers’ of the weekend – it’s got score draw written all over it.
Huddersfield Town stiker Martin Paterson says he is ready to turn his short career in West Yorkshire around - starting tomorrow against Leeds should be given the chance.
The 26-year old is yet to break his duck for the Terriers after eight appearances, but says he is ready to kick-start his season under Mark Robins.
That chance could be handed to him today when Town take on rivals Leeds in a fierce derby at the John Smith's Stadium.
With in-form striker James Vaughan suspended after being shown a straight-red against Leicester City last weekend, Paterson faces a nervy wait to see who will be favoured up front in tomorrow's Championship clash.
Robins could field the Northern Ireland star, but could instead opt for Jon Stead. Youngster Danny Carr could also be handed a start.

Head-to-head
Leeds gained their first win in five years over their west Yorkshire rivals with a 4-2 triumph in this corresponding fixture in December, when Luciano Becchio bagged a brace.
The Terriers are endeavouring to gain a fifth win in eight league matches against Leeds - their second in a row, and first at home in four years.
Huddersfield need to score two more goals to total 100 in competitive matches against the Whites.

Huddersfield Town
Their 2,000th home league fixture is also a final opportunity for Huddersfield to gain a win in October this season, and their first in seven in all competitions.
The 5-1 home victory over Bournemouth on 24 August is the only occasion this season that there has been more than a single goal between the sides in a match involving Huddersfield.
If chosen, midfielder Adam Hammill will be making his 200th appearance in English and Scottish league football.
We have to capitalise on our chances says Huddersfield Town manager Mark Robins ahead of Leeds United derby

That’s the keynote message from manager Mark Robins to Town’s players ahead of tomorrow’s lunchtime showdown.
Town go into the big derby (12.30) without 11-goal leading marksman James Vaughan, who starts a three-match ban following a straight red card for violent conduct at Leicester, but with goal-hungry back-up eager to impress.
Leeds have recruited with the signing on a three-month loan of Nottingham Forest frontman Dexter Blackstock, who seems certain to be included by boss Brian McDermott on the bench at least as they bid to replicate last season’s 4-2 victory on Huddersfield soil.
Town will be looking to at least one of Jon Stead, Martin Peterson, Duane Holmes or Danny Carr to step up in the way which Vaughan and then-fellow loan man Neil Danns did in the 2-1 victory at Elland Road back in March.
That was a sweet afternoon for Robins – a derby victory at the first time of asking – and he has faith in his players to emerge with three points again despite a record of just one win in eight Championship outings.

Leeds United
Brian McDermott's Whites are chasing a third win in four games, but they have lost their last four on the road in all competitions.
Leeds have only scored first in three Championship games, but have gone on to win all three.
They are on the longest current sequence in the division without a draw of nine games.
“Leeds are always going to be a threat because they have good players at their disposal and they are going to prove a stern test, so we have to be ready to ready to meet that challenge by carrying on where we left off in terms of performance against Leicester.
“There are things we can improve on, but generally I was very happy with the way we got after a very tough side and, playing like that again, we just have to make sure we put some chances away.”
Town are 14th in the table to Leeds’ ninth, but can leapfrog McDermott’s side with a win.
“It’s about what we do, not Leeds, and we know exactly what is expected of us,” added Robins.
“We don’t need any introduction to the circumstances – it’s a derby game we are all ready and up for – and I just want to see us play our football. If we do that then we’ll be in for a decent afternoon.”
