TEAM NEWS
Playmaker Yoann Gourcuff remains sidelined for Lyon due to a hamstring problem while Clement Grenier could come in for former Tottenham midfielder Steed Malbranque after scoring twice at the weekend.
Veteran Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel will play against Lyon, denying Hugo Lloris another start against his former club in the Europa League. Striker Jermain Defoe (ankle) has not travelled with the squad, but is expected to return to training next week. Sandro, Younes Kaboul, and Tom Huddlestone (all knee) all remain out.
Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a rare couple days off this past weekend as the FA Cup Fifth Round took precedence in England. Andre Villas-Boas would rather his side had not been knocked out at Leeds United in the previous round, but he will not have objected to his well-worked players getting a rest.
It has meant Tottenham go into their Europa League Round of 32 Second Leg with Olympique Lyonnais on Thursday having not played since their first meeting last week. Gareth Bale's late winner (his second on the night) gave his team a 2-1 aggregate lead heading to France. But without a game since then, will that leave the North London club well-rested or a little rusty?
The former is more likely given the amount of football Spurs have played over the last couple of months. Lyon will have welcomed playing in between though, seeing as they enjoyed a confidence-boosting 4-0 thrashing of mid-table Bordeaux.
Gueida Fofana and Alexandre Lacazette, the 21-year-olds who both impressed against Spurs, grabbed a goal apiece with Clement Grenier scoring the other two.
The win kept Lyon in touch with Ligue 1 table-toppers Paris Saint-Germain (who lost to Sochaux), and was yet more evidence of the progression being made by this young group under the tutelage of Remi Garde.
After years of big spending on player recruitment, the French outfit are putting an emphasis on youth development.

Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel will again start in the second leg of their Europa League clash with Lyon.
The 41-year-old has been used in the cup so far and will start ahead of ex-Lyon man Hugo Lloris.
Striker Jermain Defoe (ankle) has not travelled with the squad, but is expected to return to training next week.
Defoe's absence will mean Emmanuel Adebayor will start up front for the Londoners.
Manager Andre Villas-Boas said of his striker: "He can still be the player we saw last season.
"We're trying to unlock the best out of the player. Last year shows as an example for what we're trying to get out of him.
"Strikers live off goals and we're doing everything we can to try and unlock his full potential."
Lyon coach Remi Garde believes Samuel Umtiti's stunning goal in the first leg could prove crucial to their chances of making the next round.
"We know the away goal is very important," said Garde, who took over as Lyon boss in 2011.
"We need to be patient. We have 90 minutes to qualify. It will be difficult but we can try to close them down and try to cut out their speed.
"To be able to qualify in front of the home fans would be exciting.
"We won (4-0 against Bordeaux) last weekend so we have a better mentality now."
