Series Genl Info: The Challenge (originally Road Rules All Stars, followed by Real World/Road Rules Challenge) is a reality television game show on MTV that is both dependent on and spun off from the network's two flagship reality shows, The Real World and the now cancelled series, Road Rules. It is currently hosted by T. J. Lavin. The title of the show was originally Road Rules: All Stars, before it was changed to Real World/Road Rules Challenge in the show's second season, and later shortened to The Challenge in the 19th season. The series initially had no hosts, but instead, a former cast member who had been kicked off his or her season provided assignments as Mr. or Ms. Big. David "Puck" Rainey, David Edwards, and Gladys Sanabria served this role. Later, the series began to use hosts: Eric Nies and Mark Long co-hosted a season, and Jonny Moseley and Dave Mirra hosted various seasons before T. J. Lavin became the regular host, beginning with the 11th season. After the second season, the show began using subtitles, such as Battle of the Sexes. Some seasons have had sequels, such as The Inferno, which is tied to The Inferno II and The Inferno III. The upcoming 23rd season, entitled Battle of the Seasons, will premiere on September 19, 2012, at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.Although most of the participants originally appeared on either The Real World or Road Rules, The Challenge has introduced new participants as well. Numerous cast members have made their first appearances on The Challenge, most of whom debuted on: The Fresh Meat Challenge and The Fresh Meat II Challenge.....The Challenge has been shot in many different countries around the world, as well as some taking place in the United States. During seasons 1, 4, 21, 22 and 23 the cast traveled between several different countries......Battle of the Seasons (2012): Each team consists of two men and two women from their respective seasons. After every challenge, there will be a winning team and a losing team. The losing team must enter the dreaded Arena and face possible elimination. The winning team, however, will become the Power Team. They must select one team to battle against the losers in the Arena. But there's a twist -- the teams facing the Arena must select only one guy and one girl from their own team to compete in the elimination. If they can't decide who's going in from their own team, the Power Team chooses for them---so the pressure is on. The winning competitors in the elimination rounds return to their season and continue to fight for a cut of the cash. However, the unlucky losers are immediately eliminated from the game and their season is down to only two players.

Show Summary:
Past members of "The Real World", "Road Rules", and first time cast members called "Fresh Meat", compete against each other for the chance to win a cash prize. The current season is called "Challenge: Battle Of The Exes": Thirteen teams of ex couples compete in a challenge where the winner is safe from elimination and will be known as "The Power Couple", and they are responsible for choosing one team to go into the elimination round called "The Dome", along with the team that came in last-place in the challenge.....We paired up enemies in "Rivals" and old flames in "Battle of the Exes," now, for the first time ever, it will be an all out battle for Real World supremacy. "The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons" reunites cast members from seven of the Real World's most memorable seasons. Within each team, there are exes, rivalries, current romances, best friendships and everything in between that could either help or hurt them in their goal to become the last season standing. And to make matters more intense, in competing for $350,000 in grand prizes, the former roommates may have to turn on each other to secure their own safety in the game. The usual struggles of strength and stamina will remain, but this time, they'll have to sort out their issues from their original season if they want to win it all.
