Series Genl Info: The show has been described as "a cop drama—with a twist...a dark and fantastical project about a world in which characters inspired by Grimm's Fairy Tales exist". Set in present-day Portland, Oregon,the series puts a new twist on the stories of the Brothers Grimm in which a homicide detective learns that he is a descendent of a group of hunters known as "Grimms", who fight to keep humanity safe from the supernatural creatures of the world. It was announced in January 2011 that NBC had ordered a series entitled Grimm. David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf co-wrote the pilot which was directed by Marc Buckland. Filming for the pilot began in March in Portland, Oregon. It was announced in May 2011 that NBC had picked up the pilot to series.
