Swansea manager Michael Laudrup must decide whether first-choice goalkeeper Michel Vorm is fit enough to return in place of Gerhard Tremmel. The Swans remain without top scorer Wilfried Bony, fellow forward Michu and defender Angel Rangel.
Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has not reported any fresh injury concerns within the squad.
Matthieu Debuchy will hope to retain his place after last weekend's return from suspension against West Brom.
It's been a good few weeks for Newcastle, who travel to Swansea having won their last four Premier League fixtures, and with all of those coming in November Alan Pardew is a prime candidate to be named as manager of the month.
With seven goals scored and just two conceded last month, Newcastle will be confident of extending their unbeaten run against a Swansea side who have had a mixed season so far, and who haven't been helped by injuries to key players.
Both Michu and Wilfried Bony are out of action at the moment, although the Swans did receive good news this week when Bony's hamstring injury was found to be not as serious as first thought. One striker who will be playing is Loic Remy. The French international is on a hot run of form at the moment, with eight goals in his last nine Premier League appearances, and it wouldn't be a surprise if Newcastle were to convert his loan from QPR into a permanent deal.
After all, the Magpies did try to sign him in January when Remy opted instead for a move to London.
Swansea's only home win in the Premier League this season came when they defeated Sunderland 4-0 in October, although it could be argued with some justification that they were unfortunate not to beat Stoke last month.
This is a busy month for both sides. Swansea have eight fixtures in December, including their Europa League trip to Switzerland to face St Gallen, while Newcastle have half a dozen matches.
The question of the Europa League is an interesting one. Newcastle struggled last season to balance the demands of competing in Europe and in the Premier League; this season - after a shaky start and without another competition to contend with - they are going very well.
Swansea's participation in Europe this season would seem to be having an impact on their domestic form, just as it did for the Magpies last season.

Head-to-head
Swansea and Newcastle have only met four times in the top flight, with Swansea winning two to Newcastle's one victory.
The Swans beat Newcastle home and away last season, the first time they have done so since 1979-80.

Swansea
Only one of Swansea's four league wins this season has come at the Liberty Stadium.
City have scored more goals (17) than any other side in the bottom half of the table.
Swansea have not lost this season when scoring first - picking up four wins and a draw. However they have failed to win any of the seven matches in which they conceded the opening goal.
Sunday's defeat by Manchester City was the sixth time in eight that Swansea have failed to win on the back of European competition in midweek.
Wayne Routledge is the only player in either squad to have represented both clubs, with three goals in 36 games for Newcastle prior to his move to the Liberty Stadium in 2011.

Newcastle
Newcastle have won four games in a row for the first time since April 2012, when they won six consecutive games en route to a fifth-place finish in the Premier League.
Loic Remy has scored eight goals in his last nine Premier League appearances and also assisted a goal in the weekend victory over West Brom.
Newcastle have taken the lead in nine of their 13 Premier League games this season, going on to win seven of them.
Six French players have accounted for 18 of Newcastle's 19 league goals this season: Remy (eight), Yoan Gouffran (four), Hatem Ben Arfa (two), Yohan Cabaye (two), Matthieu Debuchy (one) and Moussa Sissoko (one). Wales defender Paul Dummett scored the other.
