Wigan goalkeeper Lee Nicholls will keep his place against Zulte Waregem in the Europa League as Scott Carson continues to recover from an ankle injury.Latics defender Juan Carlos Garcia strained his ankle on international duty and is out for six weeks.
The club's loan of Manchester United striker Will Keane will not be complete in time for him to make his debut.
Victory over Zulte would secure qualification for Wigan providing Maribor do not beat Rubin Kazan.
Table-toppers Rubin Kazan meet Maribor at 1700 GMT meaning the Latics will know before kick-off in their own game whether they could book their place in the knockout stages with a game to spare.
"For us to be able to reach that 32 would be a great achievement but we're going to have to go and earn it," said Wigan boss Owen Coyle.
"The incentive is there not only for ourselves but also Zulte Waregem, because it could be a Milan, an Ajax, a Napoli - there's going to be some fantastic teams coming out of the Champions League never mind the quality that's already in the Europa League."
Thorgan Hazard, the younger brother of Chelsea winger Eden, is part of the Zulte Waregem squad.
The 20 year-old, who is on loan from Stamford Bridge, has scored nine goals in 16 games for the Belgian side this season.
Zulte Waregem lie second in their domestic top-flight, two points off leaders Standard Liege.
Wigan Athletic manager Owen Coyle says the Championship club have a verbal agreement to sign striker Will Keane on loan from Manchester United.
The 20-year-old, who has made one substitute appearance for United, has recently returned to fitness after 16 months out with a serious knee problem.
Keane picked up a slight injury while with England's Under-21 side last week.

But Coyle is confident he will recover quickly and a deal could be completed after Saturday's game with Brighton.
"I spoke to [United manager] David Moyes on Wednesday," the Scot told BBC Radio Manchester. "Given the lad's had a serious injury, we'll always be guided by Manchester United in terms of when they feel is the right time for him to go out on loan.
"I think this week will be too soon, given the slight knock he had, but if he recovers from that and the medical team are happy with him, there's a possibility we could have that sorted by next week.
Keane, who won the FA Youth Cup with United in 2011, made his only senior appearance for the Premier League champions in December of that year and was tipped for a first-team breakthrough before rupturing his cruciate ligament while on international duty with England's Under-19 team.
The Latics already have one United youngster on loan and Coyle hopes Keane can replicate the success of forward Nick Powell, who has scored five times in 14 games since his deadline day move to Wigan.
