Semedo has completed a three-game ban following his dismissal at Bolton last month and may go straight back into the starting line-up in place of Seyi Olofinjana, who is not fully match-fit.

Kamil Zayatte faces a late fitness test as he looks to overcome an ankle injury and fellow defender Martin Taylor is definitely out due to a similar problem.

Midfielder David Prutton is still struggling with the ankle injury that has kept him out since September as Wednesday chase their second win of the season.

Huddersfield's leading goalscorer James Vaughan is expected to return to the starting line-up at Sheffield Wednesday following suspension.

Vaughan scored 11 goals in 14 appearances before sitting out a three-match ban for his dismissal at Leicester last month.

Town will also be boosted by the return to contention of striker Martin Paterson (hand) and midfielder Jonathan Hogg, who missed the home defeat to Birmingham due to a knee injury.

Skipper Peter Clarke remains sidelined with knee ligament damage as Town chase their second win in eight league matches.

 Sheffield Wednesday

• The Owls have found wins the most difficult to come by in this division, but are now targeting successive Hillsborough victories having thrashed Reading 5-2 in the last home fixture.

• Dave Jones' side are the draw specialists of the Championship, with eight of 14 games finishing level, but they are also the only club yet to keep a clean sheet in the division.

• This is Wednesday's lowest equivalent points total for 12 years, but victory over their Yorkshire rivals would provide a 400th home win in second level league football.

Huddersfield Town

• The Terriers have lost four of the last five league games including the most recent two, and are anxious to avoid three on the spin last suffered at this level in February 2001.

• They are without victory in five on the road (D2, L3) since their solitary travelling maximum against Millwall on 17 August (1-0).

• Huddersfield have won four of 11 Yorkshire derbies in the Championship since promotion in the season before last; Sheffield Wednesday have won three of 11 over the same period.

• If on the field from the outset, defender Anthony Gerrard will be making his 300th career league start.
