Each season featured at least 16 of the nation's top mixed fighters, all vying for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).....Season 16 of Ultimate Fighting Championship's (UFC) reality television series "The Ultimate Fighter" (TUF) kicked off Friday night (Sept. 21st, 2012) with the standard cutting in half of the original field of 32 competitors, all foaming at the mouth and looking for an opportunity to be top-notch professional fighters.Daniel Sarafian was scheduled to be part of the finale, but was injured and replaced by Sergio Moraes.Hall will be the heavy favorite here, and that designation is well-deserved. Prior to appearing on the show, Hall faced a far greater level of competition than Gastelum, ....The historic Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonnar fight in the first season drew millions of viewers to the show and launched the sport into the mainstream. Because of this success, The Ultimate Fighter was regarded as instrumental to the survival and expansion of the UFC and mixed martial arts into the mainstream. Many current and past UFC fighters are alumni of the show, with some competitors going on to become coaches in future seasons. The show has undergone multiple format changes since its inception, including the introduction of the wildcard bout. Many winners have gone on to compete for UFC championships with some becoming UFC champions......135lb male and female fighters from all over the world have been given the chance to battle it out in The Ultimate Fighter. Only 8 men and 8 women have made it through. The first episode introduced the 32 hopefuls (about three from the UK, I believe), and we had the hilarious introduction of Ronda finding out she wasn’t coaching alongside Cat Zingano, instead, her rival who she is to fight for the second time in December, Miesha Tate. TV gold. Ronda was very reserved throughout the first episode and barely said a word let alone change her disgusted facial expression that became more and more contorted every time Miesha freely expressed her excitement at the judges table. Dana White sat between the pair and it seems he only got words out of Miesha. Ronda is easily irritated and it was evident she did not want to be sat at the same table as her rival but she will not be holding her tongue for long. It’s early days and the character that has caused thousands of MMA fans to either passionately love or hate Rousey will come out in full swing in no time, I’m sure.....Watch Tonight, the gang takes a field trip to Green Valley Ranch, Raquel and Sarah get makeovers and of course, the epic female elimination fight featuring Jessamyn Duke vs. Raquel Pennington!
