Series Genl Info: The first series started broadcasting on 12 November 2009 on E4, and was produced by Clerkenwell Films.The show aired in Australia in 2010 on ABC2. In June 2011,it was made available online in the United States via Hulu, where it became one of the service's most-watched series. Filming for the second series began on 24 May 2010, next to Southmere Lake, Thamesmead, Southeast London.The second series aired from 11 November 2010 to 16 December 2010 on E4. A third series was officially confirmed. A Christmas special, written by Howard Overman, featuring the whole main cast of the first series was broadcast on E4 in December 2010. The first series won the 2010 BAFTA Television Award for Best Drama Series. On 10 April 2011, it was announced that actor Robert Sheehan would not be returning for the third series. A short entitled "Vegas Baby", released online in September 2011, covered the departure of Sheehan's character, Nathan. An extended trailer for the new third series was shown after the short. The third series started on Novober 30, 2011.On 16 December 2011, Digital Spy revealed that the show was renewed for a fourth series.A few days later, it was revealed that series stars Antonia Thomas and Iwan Rheon would not be returning in the fourth series.On 8 Novober 2012, four promos advertising the new series began to air on E4, featuring Jess, Finn, Curtis and Rudy.....On 19 March 2013, Channel 4 announced at a press event that they have renewed Misfits for a fifth and final series containing 8 episodes......Misfits follows five outsiders on community service who get struck by a flash storm and lumbered with special powers. Hard as nails Kelly (Lauren Socha) can suddenly hear people’s thoughts, shamed sporting hero Curtis (Nathan Stewart Jarrett) discovers he has the ability to turn back time when he regrets something, and party girl Alisha (Antonia Thomas) can send people into a sexual frenzy when they touch her skin. Even painfully shy Simon (Iwan Rheon) can make himself invisible when he feels he’s being ignored, which makes it all the more hard to swallow for smart Aleck Nathan (Robert Sheehan), who seems to have been unaffected, much to his dismay. Unlike their more conventional counterparts, our misfits don’t swap their ankle tags and mobile phones for capes and tights. Instead, they discover what a pain in the arse life can be when you’re stuck with a super power you didn’t want........The new series marks the first anniversary of the storm and a support group forms on the estate for those people who find having a super power isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Like … the ability to knit visions of the future, or to shag unwanted powers out of other people or to transform into a turtle. And as Dark Rudy likes to talk-slash-moan, it should come as no surprise that he is the first of our gang to start attending.
