Episode Summary:
Another soldier in the army of evil, the Sandman, seeps into the dreams of the residents of Sleepy Hollow. By infiltrating their minds at night, he tortures them to the brink - all because they, at one time, turned a blind eye to justice. When the Sandman seemingly sets his sights on Abbie, she is forced to begin to face her past - and her institutionalized sister, Jenny. With Ichabod by her side, and her life at stake, the duo must try to defeat the Sandman and continue their fight against evil.
About The Show: The series is considered a "modern-day retelling" of the 1820 short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving. The pilot episode was filmed in Salisbury, North Carolina. The rest of the first season will film in Wilmington, North Carolina. Filming began in early July 2013.Sleepy Hollow has been confirmed to air in Canada on the Global Television Network, but no release date has been given. In Australian the series will premiere on Network Ten on September 17, 2013, just hours after the US premiere. In Spain, the series will broadcast on Fox International, although no release date was given. Universal Channel will air the series in the United Kingdom......After Ichabod Crane "dies" during a mission for General George Washington in 1790, he awakens in 2013 Sleepy Hollow. But so does the Headless Horseman, whose head Ichabod lopped off before his perceived death. The horseman begins his nightly killing spree, and Ichabod must partner with newly appointed Sheriff Abbie Mills.....Abbie is made the new sheriff after the horseman killed the previous sheriff upon awakening. While hunting the Horseman, Abbie looks into the old case files her old partner (the former sheriff) was investigating and learns of two types of occult groups -- one for good, the other evil -- which may have summoned the horseman again. If the horseman is not stopped, dark supernatural forces will affect the Earth. This becomes more difficult as the Horseman discovers modern weaponry, which he assimilates into his ritualistic hunt.
