Burnley boss Sean Dyche will give a late fitness test to Ben Mee (knee) and fellow defender Michael Duff (hamstring) before naming his squad.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has a number of selection quandaries ahead of Saturday's Scottish League Cup tie at Forfar.

Trialists are not eligible to play in the competition, which means all eight of Rangers' new signings will be unable to feature as they cannot be registered until 1 September due to a transfer embargo.

Cammy Bell, Nicky Law, Nicky Clark, Arnold Peralta, Bilel Mohsni, Jon Daly, Steven Smith will therefore have to sit out this first round encounter.

And Emilson Cribari, Ross Perry and Kyle Hutton have all been ruled out of the tie due to injury.

Rangers (from): Gallacher, Wallace, Faure, Black, Macleod, Templeton, Crawford, Aird, McCulloch, Little, McAusland, Gasparotto, Hegarty, Smith, Mitchell, Naismith.
Rangers manager Ally McCoist has a number of selection problems for their Scottish League Cup tie against Forfar.

Trialists are not permitted to take part in the competition, meaning all eight new signings - who cannot be registered until September 1 under a transfer embargo - are unable to feature in the first round tie.

Cammy Bell, Nicky Law, Nicky Clark, Arnold Peralta, Bilel Mohsni, Jon Daly, Steven Smith and Richard Foster are all ineligible, while Emilson Cribari, Ross Perry and Kyle Hutton are injured.

Forfar could hand former Rangers defender Marvin Andrews a debut against his old club at Station Park after the 37-year-old was passed fit following an ankle injury.

Gary Fusco is also in line for a start with Chris Templeman included after a knock, but Darren Dods is a doubt and Michael Dunlop is suspended.

Loons boss Dick Campbell welcomes the challenge of playing Rangers, he said: "This is a great game as it will be a terrific test of our new-look squad.

"Rangers looked good against Albion Rovers on Sunday but I want our players to show what they can do."
