The Dragons have excelled at the foot of the mountains in recent years, winning three of their past four matches, and actually have a better record away (3-5) than at home (2-4) this season. Penrith got the better of the Red V 13-12 last year but it was a thriller, decided by a Lachlan Coote field goal in golden-point time. With both sides, especially the Dragons, needing to win to stay within striking distance of the top eight, don’t be surprised if this match also goes down to the wire.

Phil's tip: Dragons by two.

AAP writes: While not quite yet desperate, both sides need a win here to stay in touch with the top eight. The Dragons may find the going tough following news that Blues forward Trent Merrin will miss the clash after taking the early guilty plea on a striking charge from State of Origin II. Penrith on the other hand will be without Josh Mansour (eye socket) and Sika Manu (thumb), while James Roberts claims the wing spot from Travis Robinson.
