Series Genl Info: The series, created by Bobby Bowman, is produced by Mark Gordon, ABC Studios and ITV Studios America. It is based on the British sitcom White Van Man, which was produced by ITV Studios America's parent company ITV Studios, and whose creator, Adrian Poynton, is also a co-creator and producer of the American version. On May 11, 2012, ABC placed a series order for the comedy. On November 10, 2012, it was reported that ABC has cut their order for the series from 13 episodes to 10 due to scheduling conflicts....The series follows a man who's had a streak of bad luck with everything from enlisting in the Army to flunking out of seminary three times. When he returns home, he finds himself in the unlikely position of taking over his father's hardware-handyman business due to the fact that his father was recently diagnosed with a heart condition. However, this transition is not as easy as expected as he tries to maintain the success of the business that his father built, especially with his father keeping a watchful eye.....And seminary school didn’t work out so well when he started suggesting “punch ups” for the Bible. But Jack is forced to put his constantly-changing dreams on hold when his dad Tony (JK Simmons), has a heart attack and is forced to retire from his hometown handyman business. Now, armed with big dreams, power tools and a slacker assistant, Darren (Edi Gathegi), Jack becomes the new Mr. Jiffy-Fix. But it’s not easy: Jack has a tendency to bite off more than he can chew and it doesn't help that his dad is always looking over his shoulder. But if Jack can find his sea legs, with a little help from his family including his forceful and outspoken Aunt Terry (Leah Remini), his teenage cousin, Mason (Johnny Pemberton), and Darren's flrty sister, Stitch (Danielle Nicolet) he just might finally make his father proud......
