Reading could have their relegation back to the Championship confirmed in this round of fixtures.

If Nigel Adkins' side lose at Carrow Road and three other results go against them over the weekend - if Sunderland win and Newcastle avoid defeat on Saturday, and then Aston Villa win at Manchester United on Monday then their one-year stay in the Premier League will be over.

Adkins is still looking for his first win as Royals boss, but he will be encouraged by their goalless draw earned against Liverpool last weekend.

Chris Hughton is sweating on the fitness of midfielder Bradley Johnson after he picked up a dead leg in last weekend's defeat to Arsenal.

Anthony Pilkington and Wes Hoolahan both return to the squad after missing out against Arsenal with minor knocks.

John Ruddy is pushing for a return to the side after two outings for the development squad after serious injury, but the game is likely to come too soon for the England international with Mark Bunn set to continue between the posts.

Reading pack their bags to visit Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon, hoping to improve upon an average previous return from this fixture. Of the 31 games played, Royals have recorded 9 wins, and Norwich City have come away with 14 victories.

The previous match played between the two at Carrow Road was within the last three years, in February 2011, the Canaries carving out a narrow 2-1 victory in a Championship match.

Reading manager Nigel Adkins is hopeful Jimmy Kebe could be fit enough to play some part of clash against Norwich.

The Mali winger missed the 0-0 draw with Liverpool due to a groin injury but has returned to training this week and could be involved at Carrow Road.

The game is likely to come too early for goalkeeper Adam Federici and midfielder Hope Akpan (both ankle) but winger Hal Robson-Kanu has an outside chance of being in contention despite struggling with a knee complaint.
