While the Eels were impressive last Saturday, their opponents, the New Zealand Warriors, were diabolical. With five-eighth Luke Kelly out with a hamstring injury, Joseph Paulo has a big task directing the team around the paddock with Chris Sandow. If the Bulldogs forwards can emulate the ball-playing feats of their missing stars, they’ll bring fullback Drury Low into the contest. While it was evident against the Cowboys they missed Ben Barba, the gaping hole is in the forward pack, with Sam Kasiano, Frank Pritchard and James Graham all missing. The battle between Krisnan Inu and Jacob Loko could be pivotal.AAP writes: New coach Ricky Stuart has moved to temper early season expectation on Parramatta after they thrashed the Warriors last week - a loss to Canterbury might do that but a win over last year's grand finalists will only do the opposite.
This is a tough early test to see where the Eels are really at under Stuart. Without Ben Barba, Sam Kasiano and Frank Pritchard the Dogs are not the side they were last year but no one wants to drop to 0-2 after two rounds. Canterbury are ripe for the picking at the moment and the Eels are a massive chance here.
Key: Chris Sandow and Jarryd Hayne look to have responded positively to Stuart's mentoring and if they continue their form of last week, the Eels could work over a Bulldogs side that doesn't have a lot of points in them at the moment.
