MATCH PREVIEW

Who would have thought before the season started that these two sides would both have 40 points by the beginning of March?
There were plenty of pundits, and probably fans, who expected Swansea to suffer second-season syndrome after a better-than-expected first Premier League campaign. There were also many people doubting West Brom and Steve Clarke in his first managerial role.
Well, look at both clubs now. Swansea have won their first major trophy and will play in Europe next season. At a stretch, so could West Brom.
Swansea boss Michael Laudrup has taken the philosophy of previous incumbent Brendan Rodgers one step further, maintaining the team's attractive style and making them even more attacking.
West Brom also play a brand of football of which they can be proud. Just as Swansea have benefitted from the arrival of Michu, Albion have acquired a new edge in attack thanks to Romelu Lukaku.
I also think the form of Wayne Routledge has been a huge positive for Swansea, as has that of Ben Foster for West Brom. Routledge has had nine clubs but never played as consistently well as this season, and he could even be an outsider for the England squad to face San Marino and Montenegro if Roy Hodgson wants to look at someone different. Foster's form certainly merits inclusion in the England squad now that he's made himself available for selection again.
Swansea are leading what is turning out to be a great year for Welsh football. Cardiff look like they will join them in the Premier League next season, while Wrexham and Newport are vying for promotion to the Football League.
In the West Midlands, Albion are flying the flag for an area that's having a terrible time football-wise. You can put the Baggies' success down to head coach Clarke and also the chairman Jeremy Peace.
Like his Swansea counterpart Huw Jenkins, Peace has been very canny with his managerial appointments, who have built up the club step by step over the years.
Regardless of Saturday's result, the two clubs can look forward to a top-10 finish. You would have had few takers on that outcome back in August.
