QPR will make a late decision on whether Bobby Zamora and Julio Cesar are fit enough to face Sunderland.Zamora remains troubled by hip and ankle problems, while goalkeeper Cesar went off injured against Southampton.Sunderland continue to be without injured defender Wes
Brown, who now looks likely to miss the remainder of the season with
knee ligament damage.
Danny Rose could return at left-back after spending a month on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
Last week's workmanlike win at Southampton means that another victory could lift them off the bottom for the first time since mid-December. It would be their first back-to-back successes since their return to the Premier League.
They have a wretched record against Sunderland. It's just over 22 years since they last beat them at home. But the Black Cats are in dismal form as well and could be ripe for a fourth defeat in five league games.
The manager has The Hoops believing they can pull off another Harry Houdini escape. He's done it before at West Ham, Portsmouth and Tottenham with unlikely heroes and I wonder if he's found another in Jay Bothroyd.
Just a few months ago, out on loan, overweight and unfit, he seemed to have no future at this level. But Harry was forced to play him at St Mary's because of injury to Bobby Zamora. He scored and looked lively. Goalkeeper Rob Green suddenly found a route back into the action too and excelled.
It would be ironic if two players virtually jettisoned by the club were to keep them up.
A month ago it was an impossible quest. Now QPR have a genuine chance of staying up. They have to win games like this and they must start scoring more regularly. But they are now all working together and strangely they could well be the more confident side going into this.
I think Sunderland will be okay come May - but not in west London this weekend.

MATCH PREVIEW
QPR have spent much of a miserable last year in the relegation positions. But there is light at the end of the tunnel.Last week's workmanlike win at Southampton means that another victory could lift them off the bottom for the first time since mid-December. It would be their first back-to-back successes since their return to the Premier League.

The physical demands of the toughest
league of them all are catching up on one of the smallest top-flight
squads of the modern era.
Anxious Sunderland fans are starting to fear the drop.
Three wins should be enough for them and there are winnable home matches
to come against Norwich, Stoke and Southampton. A point would be
welcome at Loftus Road, but it's a home win for me.
