AC Milan's Philippe Mexes believes his side can beat the odds to knock Barcelona out of the Champions League. Barca lead the Spanish league by 13 points after Saturday's 2-1 win over Granada, with Lionel Messi scoring his 300th and 301st goals for the club. And Messi scored two penalties as Barca beat Milan 3-1 on aggregate in last season's quarter-final. But defender Mexes, 30, said: "Even if we're the underdogs, we believe in ourselves. We want to do well." Seven-time European champions Milan lost a number of experienced players last summer, with Gennaro Gattuso joining Swiss side Sion, fellow midfielder Clarence Seedorf moving to Brazil with Botafogo and centre-back Alessandro Nesta switching to Major League Soccer with Montreal Impact.

Team News:
All had enjoyed long spells at the San Siro, with Seedorf and Nesta, both 36, spending a decade at the club and Gattuso, 35, staying for 13 years.
In addition, Sweden international striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 31, left the club last summer to join Paris Saint-Germain, as did Brazilian centre-back Thiago Silva, 28.
Coach Massimiliano Allegri has built a younger side this season, aided by the emergence of young forward Stephan El Shaarawy and 20-year-old full-back Mattia De Sciglio.
After a poor start to the season, Allegri's side have climbed to fourth in Serie A, 11 points behind leaders Juventus, thanks to a run of one defeat in 13 league matches, and they beat Parma 2-1 on Friday.
Mexes added: "Our squad is very young in comparison to last season when we had experienced players such as Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, Nesta, Seedorf. Now it's a different Milan but it will always be Milan."
Striker Mario Balotelli has scored four times in three appearances for Milan since his arrival last month, but is cup-tied for the match against Barcelona, having already played in this season's Champions League for Manchester City.

Messi, who has 48 goals in all competitions this season, is likely to be the main threat for four-time European champions Barcelona.
They are set to be led by assistant boss Jordi Roura, as manager Tito Vilanova has been receiving treatment for cancer.
Barca's former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas is wary of the threat posed by Milan.
"It will be a complicated match because we face a very good rival," Fabregas said. "But we are highly motivated and confident."
AC Milan have won the European Cup or Champions League seven times - in 1963, 1969, 1989, 1990, 1994, 2003 and 2007.
Only Real Madrid, with nine triumphs, have won it more times than Milan.
Striker Filippo Inzaghi scored twice the last time they won a final, beating Liverpool 2-1 in Athens.
Barcelona have won the competition four times - in 1992, 2006, 2009 and 2011.
Their last triumph was also against English opposition, with a 3-1 victory over Manchester United at Wembley.
