It is co-produced by Daniels' Deedle-Dee Productions, and Shine America, in association with Universal Television. The original executive producers were Daniels, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, with numerous others being promoted in later seasons....The Office is filmed with a single-camera setup in a cinéma vérité style simulating the look of an actual documentary, with no studio audience or laugh track, allowing for its "deadpan" and "absurd" humor to fully come across. The primary vehicle for the show is that a camera crew has decided to film Dunder Mifflin and its employees, seemingly around the clock. The presence of the camera is acknowledged by the characters, especially Michael Scott, who enthusiastically participates in the filming.....On May 11, 2012, the series was renewed for a ninth season, which will be the final season. Brent Forrester, who has been a consulting producer and writer since the third season, and new series writer Dan Sterling are new executive producers to replace Paul Lieberstein and Mindy Kaling, who both departed the series after the eighth season. Series developer Greg Daniels returned as showrunner this season. Catherine Tate, who joined the series as a regular in the second half of season eight continued in season 9, and Jake Lacy and Clark Duke joined the main cast. Actor Bryan Cranston will be directing one episode titled "Work Bus". Cast member Zach Woods' contract was not renewed for the season, however Gabe is still expected to return in some form....."The Office has one of the best casts on television. It also has created several compelling characters and touching relationships, all of which is fairly remarkable for a half hour comedy."

Series Summary:
A fly-on-the-wall "docu-reality" parody about modern American office life, "The Office" delves into the lives of the workers at Dunder Mifflin paper supply company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Regional manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell) is a single, middle-aged man who is the boastful tour guide for the documentary. With unshaken enthusiasm, Michael believes he is the office funnyman, a fountain of business wisdom and his employees' cool friend. He has no clue that his employees tolerate his inappropriate behavior only because he signs their paychecks. Painstakingly trying to be liked and to look cool, Michael comes off alternately absurd and pathetic. His prize possession is his "World's Greatest Boss" mug -- which he had to buy for himself.

Episode Summary:
Clark brings an espresso maker to the office, and the staff embraces the new device. Meanwhile, Dwight and Clark pretend to be a father-and-son duo to land a sale; and Darryl goes on an interview at Jim's company, where Pam drops by unexpectedly.
