Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic is aware of how valuable captain Francesco Totti is to the team but believes the Giallorossi can overcome his absence against Udinese.
Totti will miss Sunday's game at Udinese after sustaining a hamstring injury during last week's 2-0 triumph over Napoli.
The veteran Italian striker will be sidelined for a month.
``It's not going to be easy because we know how much Totti means to Roma,'' said Pjanic, whose brace against Napoli handed his team its eighth straight win of the season.
``It will be a further challenge for us.''
Pjanic pointed out that Roma, who lead the Serie A standings with a five-point advantage over Napoli and Juventus, has plenty of players capable of stepping in to fill the void.
``We've got a great squad with very good players,'' said Pjanic.
``We need to play well, even with Totti missing.
``I know (striker) Adem Ljajic has a lot of talent and is looking forward to playing on Sunday.''
Ljajic is set to replace Totti and play alongside Marco Borriello and the team's top scorer Alessandro Florenzi in attack.
Pjanic is confident that the Giallorossi can keep up their impressive form.
Roma, coached by Rudi Garcia, have the best attack and the most solid defence in the competition with 22 goals scored and just one conceded.
``I think what surprises me the most is the fact that we have only given away a goal,'' said Pjanic. ``This proves that this team is hungry and it is this that helps you to win.''
Rivals Udinese would like nothing more than to end Roma's perfect start to the campaign.
However, Bianconero coach Francesco Guidolin is aware his players will have to step up their game if they are to threaten Roma.
``We are well aware that we must improve and do it quickly,'' said Guidolin. ``Our performances are not good enough to get important results.
``We need to do better in every aspect of our game.
``I'm sure my players will have plenty of motivation to do well against Roma.''
The Friuli outfit has won all of their games at home but Guidolin's men have yet to take a point on the road this season.
Last weekend's 1-0 defeat at AC Milan was their fourth loss away from home and dropped the Bianconeri to 11th place.

AC Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo has warned his team-mates not to drop their standards when they travel to Parma on Sunday.
The Rossoneri appear to have put a disappointing start to the Serie A season behind them.
Tuesday's 1-1 draw against Barcelona kept Milan on course for the knockout stage of the Champions League and, coming after last weekend's 1-0 league win over Udinese, suggests Massimiliano Allegri's men may at last be turning the corner.
But Montolivo knows it will count for little if they cannot keep their form going at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.
``We must go onto the pitch with the same will and the same motivations we displayed against Barcelona,'' Montolivo said.
``We played a very good game against Barca and we proved we can compete against anyone.
``We must get a result in Parma in order to start a challenging week on the right foot.''
Milan host Lazio on Wednesday before taking on Fiorentina at the San Siro next weekend.
``These are three very important games in order to climb up in the standings,'' Montolivo said.
Milan, who have yet to win on the road this season, stand in eighth place - 13 points behind leaders Roma after eight games.
Allegri's side will be bolstered by the return of the team's top scorer Mario Balotelli, who came on as a second-half substitute against Barca having missed last weekend's win against Udinese through injury.
Parma captain Alessandro Lucarelli does not expect a tired Milan to turn up.
``Milan is a great team,'' Lucarelli said. ``They are able to play three games in a week because they have a big squad.
``But we are ready for them.''
Parma, coached by former Milan player Roberto Donadoni, saw their four-match unbeaten run come to an end last weekend.
The Ducale club fell 3-2 at Hellas Verona to drop to 13th position, two points adrift of Milan.
Former Rossoneri striker Antonio Cassano will lead Parma's attack alongside Amauri.

Juventus go in search of a swift reaction to back-to-back defeats when they entertain Genoa in Serie A on Sunday. The reigning champions suffered a second-half collapse as they let a two-goal advantage slip in their 4-2 defeat to Fiorentina in their last Serie A outing.

Juventus has played 3 Italy Serie A matches this season on Stadio Olimpico. On home ground Juventus has won 3, drawn 0 and lost 0 matches. This ranks the Bianconeri 3rd in home team performance in the Italy Serie A.
Genoa has played 4 Italy Serie A matches this season away from home. On away ground Genoa has won 1, drawn 1 and lost 2 matches. This ranks the Grifoni 10th in away team performance in the Italy Serie A.

And Antonio Conte's side followed up that disappointment by succumbing to a 2-1 Champions League loss to Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.
Despite those setbacks, Juventus are in good shape overall in Serie A, having amassed 19 points from eight games to sit third in the table.
The Turin outfit have a 100 per cent winning record at Juventus Stadium in the league this season too, seeing off Lazio, Verona and AC Milan on their own turf so far.
Conte has no fresh injury concerns, with Mirko Vucinic and Simone Pepe (both thigh) set to be their only absentees.
Gian Piero Gasperini - who began his second spell at Genoa last month - will look to guide his team to a second consecutive Serie A victory.
Alberto Gilardino was the hero in their 2-1 triumph over Chievo last time out, as his double sandwiched an effort from Simone Bentivoglio.
But Genoa have struggled for consistency this season, and occupy 15th position having mustered just two victories from eight league games.

Napoli will looking to pick up where they left off in midweek when they host Torino in Serie A on Sunday.
The azzurri outfit go into the encounter at the Stadio San Paolo on the back of Tuesday's impressive 2-1 Champions League triumph at Marseille, secured through goals from Jose Callejon and Duvan Zapata.
The outcome saw Napoli finish the night as one of three teams on six points at the top of Group F, alongside Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal.
Moreover, it lifted the morale of Rafael Benitez's men after last week's 2-0 defeat at Roma - their first reverse in Serie A.
``In Rome we played well and I knew that if we played as we did against Roma, we would win in Marseille,'' Benitez said.
``I chose the formation well but then again it is easy when you have the players that I have.
``They are all training well and you could see great concentration from the whole squad. I congratulate them.''
Napoli stand second in Serie A, five points behind leaders Roma.
The azzurri will no doubt be wary of a Torino side that made life difficult for Inter Milan last time out.
Nicola Bellomo's last-gasp equaliser handed Torino a 3-3 draw against Inter last weekend and lifted the Turin outfit to 10th in the table.
The Granata have lost just one of the last six games, a 1-0 reverse to Juventus, but travel to Naples nowhere near full strength with several players out injured.
Midfielder Matteo Brighi sustained a thigh injury against Inter and has joined Cesare Bovo, Omar El Kaddouri, Marcelo Larrondo and Guillermo Rodriguez on the sidelines.
Torino coach Giampiero Ventura will be hoping to welcome back Swedish midfielder Alexander Farnerud, who has been struggling with a muscular problem.
Napoli will be without right-back Camilo Zuniga and centre-back Miguel Britos, both out injured.

Head-to-head
Charlton and Wigan have only gone head-to-head previously in four Premier League matches, each club winning twice.
Charlton hold a 100% home record against the Latics with successive 1-0 victories in August 2005 and March 2007.
Wigan have scored six goals and conceded four against the Addicks, but are yet to find the net at the Valley.

Charlton Athletic
The Addicks ended a six-match winless streak with last Saturday's 1-0 away victory over Blackburn, and now set their sights on their first back-to-back wins in over six months.
Simon Church's seventh-minute winner at Ewood Park was only Charlton's second first-half goal in the Championship this term.
Chris Powell's side have scored just three home league goals in their five games, and supporters have only seen seven goals in total in league games at the Valley this term.

Wigan Athletic
Wigan won both previous league matches immediately after Thursday night Europa League ties.
All their points have come from games in which they have scored two or more goals, but they have not managed to net a single goal in seven league and cup games away from the DW Stadium, since the season-opening 4-0 thrashing of Barnsley at the Oakwell Ground.
Owen Coyle's charges have also recouped eight of their 14 points from matches in which they were in arrears.

St Johnstone will have four full-backs in their back four against Motherwell on Sunday despite signing centre-back Sanel Jahic.
Saints finalised a two-month contract for the Bosnia international on Wednesday after Frazer Wright was suspended for three Scottish Premiership games while Steven Anderson waits to get the plaster off his dislocated thumb.
Janic impressed during a trial period but manager Tommy Wright is not prepared to throw him into the starting line-up with his defence at McDiarmid Park on Sunday set to be formed by natural full-backs Gary Miller, Dave Mackay, Brian Easton and Tam Scobbie.
The Saints boss said: "He will go straight into the squad. He signed last weekend but the paperwork didn't go through in time to enable him to play in the under-20s so I think this Sunday is maybe a bit early for him, but it gives us defensive cover.
"It's an area where we are going to be a little light for a week or two.
"We will definitely have four full-backs in our back four but they are all experienced and they have all played in the centre of defence. We will work on it in training and see what the best combination we can come up with for Sunday's game."

Team News:
The Saints boss believes his 31-year-old signing, who was a free agent after a spell in the Turkish top flight, will be an asset. Jahic has vowed to use his time in Perth to add to ensure a recall for World Cup finalists Bosnia.
"That's one of the reasons why it was basically a no-brainer to bring him in," Wright said. "He is experienced, he has played at a good level, and he's hungry. He needs to play to get back in the Bosnia squad and we'll give him the opportunity to do that.
"We will look at it at the end of that deal. If he does really well, he might move elsewhere. But the main thing is he's here and he will make a contribution to the squad."
Former Kilmarnock defender Wright was sent off in controversial fashion for denying Paul McGowan a goalscoring opportunity during St Johnstone's 4-3 defeat at St Mirren Park, but he was handed an additional two-game ban after being reported for foul and abusive language towards the fourth official.
His manager, who also lost striker Steven MacLean to a knee injury in Paisley, said: "We haven't appealed it because Frazer has admitted he did say that and that has ben dealt with by the club internally.
"I would just like to see a level of consistency because there have been instances in games this year where even from the touchline I've heard foul and abusive language and it's been ignored.
"So it's harsh to take but he is wrong and he knows that and the fourth official had no option.
"Whether he should have been sent off or not is a different debate, but Frazer's reaction is wrong and he knows that and he has apologised."
Motherwell goalkeeper Lee Hollis will miss a second successive week with an ankle injury ruling him out against St Johnstone in Perth.
The 27-year-old missed last weekend's win over Hearts and will be replaced at McDiarmid Park for Sunday's Scottish Premiership fixture by Gunnar Nielsen.
Former Scotland winger James McFadden, meanwhile, is close to a return following a hamstring tear but may not be fit enough to feature.

Motherwell goalkeeper Lee Hollis misses a second week with an ankle injury so Gunnar Nielsen continues in goal.
James McFadden is close to a return following a hamstring tear but may not be fit enough to feature.
St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright: "I think this Sunday is maybe a bit early for him [Jahic], but it gives us defensive cover.
"We will definitely have four full-backs in our back four but they are all experienced and they have all played in the centre of defence.
"We will work on it in training and see what the best combination we can come up with for Sunday's game."
Motherwell defender Stephen McManus: "We seem to be doing okay at the moment, even if we have been flying a wee bit under the radar.
"It doesn't bother me in the slightest if people talk about us or not. We have an experienced group that has been over the course.
"If people are talking about you in a good way then that's nice. But you can bet your bottom dollar that if you are in a bad way, folk will be giving you pelters.
"We just take it game by game and try to pick up as many victories as we can."

Tottenham pair Danny Rose and Younes Kaboul remain sidelined. Paulinho, Andros Townsend and Kyle Walker will return to the starting line-up after being rested for the midweek clash with Sheriff Tiraspol. Hull are definitely without injured goalkeeper Allan McGregor and Danny Graham, while Sone Aluko (calf) and Robbie Brady (hernia) are major doubts. In addition, on-loan midfielder Jake Livermore is ineligible to play against his parent club. Most of us, I am sure, at some stage in our lives have been determined to prove someone wrong, for whatever reason. This is surely going to be a big match for Hull's Tom Huddlestone, who will want to show Andre Villas-Boas that the Tottenham boss made a mistake in allowing him to leave White Hart Lane in the summer.

Team News:
Huddlestone set for Spurs reunion. The midfielder returns to White Hart Lane for the first time since moving to the KC Stadium in the summer, while his former club continue to fly high in the Premier League.
Huddlestone has been an excellent buy for the Tigers, who travel to the capital this weekend having made a decent start the season, with 11 points from their opening eight matches. The Hull midfielder has played in all of their Premier League matches so far this season, but hasn't as yet got his first goal for the club.
This is becoming quite an issue, as he has promised not to cut his hair until he scores a goal, as a way of raising money for charity.
His last strike was in April 2011, for Spurs in a 3-3 draw against Arsenal in the north London derby. What a moment it would be for Huddlestone if he could score against his former club; as we all know, the law of the ex means it's the sort of thing that may just happen so Hull barbers are surely on standby!
On the face of it, a lack of goals have been a problem for the Championship runners-up, just seven so far in the Premier League, although that's only one fewer than Spurs.
Tottenham are making a speciality of keeping clean sheets in the league this season, but their last home match saw them concede three in the defeat to West Ham.
Their win at Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday saw them virtually through to the knockout stages of the Europa League, with Jermain Defoe equalling Martin Chivers' record of 22 goals for the club in European competition.
It's the first of two meetings between these clubs this week, as on Wednesday they meet again at White Hart Lane in the Capital One Cup. This Sunday is the priority for both, and Hull supporters will have fond memories of their first ever Premier League visit to Tottenham back in 2008.
I'm looking forward to finding out whether they can win again at the Lane.

Head-to-head
Hull have only won one once at White Hart Lane - 1-0 in October 2008. They drew 0-0 on their only other visit to Spurs in the top flight the following season.
They have only met on 24 previous occasions. Tottenham have won 10 times, Hull six and there have been eight draws.

Tottenham
All eight of Tottenham's Premier League goals this season have either been assisted or scored by a summer signing.
Spurs have kept the most clean sheets in the top flight this campaign (five), along with Southampton.
They have not won their last two Premier League home games - they haven't gone three home league games without a win since May 2011.
Sixteen points equals their best start to a Premier League season after eight matches.

Hull City
Including this fixture, all of Hull's away games this season have been against teams in the top 10 of the league going into this weekend's matches (Chelsea, Man City, Newcastle, Everton and Tottenham).
The Tigers have collected just one win from their last 28 Premier League matches away from home (D7, L20).
Only the bottom three and Stoke City have scored fewer than Hull's seven goals this season.
Hull have used fewer players than any other Premier League side this season (17).

Swansea manager Michael Laudrup must decide whether to play Ashley Williams, who has missed the last five weeks with an ankle injury.Pablo Hernadez finally looks set to play after a hamstring problem but Ben Davies (ankle) is out. West Ham could be unchanged from the side that was beaten by Manchester City last weekend. Carlton Cole is not yet match fit, while Andy Carroll, James Collins, Alou Diarra and George McCartney remain out.

Team News:
Michael Laudrup must decide whether to risk Ashley Williams in Sunday's Barclays Premier League meeting with West Ham.
The Wales defender has been sidelined for almost five weeks due to an ankle ligament problem, but took part in training earlier this week with Laudrup hoping to give his captain some match action before the south Wales derby against Cardiff.
Pablo Hernandez could finally get back on the pitch after a hamstring problem, but left-back Ben Davies will be missing until after the international break with a badly sprained ankle.
With just five league wins between them this fixture offers an opportunity for both sides to claim a significant victory. For Swansea it would be back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time in 2013, while having lost four of their last six, it would be a welcome return to winning ways for West Ham.
Swansea's 4-0 win over Sunderland last weekend was their first home Premier League win in nine attempts. They have remained unbeaten and indeed impressed in their Europa League campaign yet it could be argued it is affecting domestic matters.
Ever since their arrival in the top flight, the Liberty Stadium has been a destination where any team has had to play well to get a result, and Michael Laudrup will know that reputation and foundation has to remain in place to get close to last season's ninth-placed league position.
The four goals against Sunderland were a lift too, having scored only six in the previous seven league matches as record signing Wilfred Bony and Michu still work on their understanding.
Either man would be welcomed by Sam Allardyce at the moment in the continued absence of Andy Carroll. The progress on his record signing's fitness must be top of the West Ham manager's weekly questions.
So far this season Maiga, Vaz Te and Petric have tried unsuccessfully to fill the void, with the return of Carlton Cole an added option.
It makes the 3-0 win at Tottenham in their last away game an even more outstanding result. I watched them previously in defeat at Hull, where they were unlucky, but had they been more clinical in front of goal could have been out of sight.
The consistent emergence of Ravel Morrison has been a huge positive, as has the recent return to fitness of Stewart Downing.
Swansea face their third game in eight days and if the Hammers can rediscover that White Hart Lane formula they will move above the Swans in the table.

Head-to-head
Swansea beat West Ham 3-0 in their first home game of last season with Michu scoring his first goal at the Liberty Stadium.
The Hammers have only won four of their 22 league trips to Swansea (D4, L14).
This fixture has traditionally produced goals; an average of 3.5 goals per game have been scored across the previous 44 league meetings.

Swansea
Swansea are looking to win back-to-back league games for the first time since December last year.
All three league wins by Michael Laudrup's side this season have come when they have kept clean sheets.
There have been more goals scored at the Liberty Stadium this season (16) than at any other Premier League ground.
The Swans have drawn only once this season - only games involving Palace (none) have resulted in fewer draws.

West Ham
West Ham are looking to win successive away matches in the Premier League for the first time since December 2007.
The Hammers have conceded just one away goal in four league matches -Robbie Brady's controversial penalty at Hull.
Sam Allardyce's side are six points down on this stage of last season when they had 14 points from their opening eight games.
West Ham have the worst shooting accuracy in the Premier League this season (29.6%).

I took a call from an old friend in the United States this week. He's a big fan of giant truck racing."Chelsea-Man City!" he exclaimed. "I can see it in my dreams. The old Blue Thunder against the new Blue Thunder. All shiny and gleaming. Awesome man!"While not really appreciating a 2am phone call from a clearly deranged soon-to-be ex-friend, I thought I'd best do some research. Apparently Blue Thunder in the 1980s was the biggest Chevrolet Camaro ever built. But the Blue Thunder Ford of the last few years has all the potential to be the world's best. Through sleepy eyes I could just about get his point as I watched video of two mighty machines bumping but bellowing over pitfalls placed in front of them.

Team News:
Chelsea, the old Blue Thunder, lustrous with its supremely confident Jose at the wheel. City, the new upstarts, with even more power in the tank. It's a monster mash-up.
These two squads are currently valued at £820m. This is a signpost game for the title. Nothing will be decided for months of course. But a third league defeat by November would seriously dent City's credentials. A first ever league home defeat for Mourinho at Chelsea would be a significant setback to their recent progress.
Chelsea are beginning to look really good. They're unbeaten in seven games and scoring for fun.
City also look highly dangerous going forward. Sergio Aguero is in lethal form with four goals in three games and 72 in his last 112 for club and country. But without Vincent Kompany they lack discipline at the back. Mistakes are being made.
At home, the 2012 champions are so powerful. Away they can succumb too easily. Only four wins in 12 Premier League trips is not a title-winning ratio.
So the form book favours Chelsea. Their defence is tighter right now. Their strikers are hitting form. But with all the glittering stars on display it still wouldn't surprise me if it's as drab and tight as it was in last year's 0-0.
Rafa Benitez was booed by his own fans then. There's no danger of the Special One getting the same treatment and, wherever he's sitting, I reckon the driver of the old Blue Thunder will cross the finish line ahead.

Head-to-head
Manchester City's only win in their last 15 trips to Chelsea was a 4-2 success in February 2010 when Carlos Tevez and Craig Bellamy both scored twice for the visitors (W1, D4, L10).
City failed to score in 10 of those 15 matches and last season's corresponding fixture ended goalless, with Rafa Benitez suffering a hostile reception from Chelsea's supporters throughout his first game in charge of the club.
Manchester City have won seven of the last 10 meetings in all competitions (W7, D1, L2).
In three seasons in Spain, Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid beat Manuel Pellegrini's Malaga five times out of seven in all competitions, losing just once and scoring 24 goals - including 7-0 and 6-2 home wins.

Chelsea
Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 13 Premier League home games - winning 11 - since a 1-0 defeat by QPR on 2 January.
They have won all four home games this season and Jose Mourinho is unbeaten in his 64 Premier League fixtures at Stamford Bridge (W50, D14).
The Blues have not conceded more than one goal in a Premier League match this season.
Mourinho's side have won all four matches in which they opened the scoring.
Samuel Eto'o scored the first Premier League goal by a Chelsea striker this season in the 4-1 victory over Cardiff last weekend.
Midfielder Oscar has already scored four league goals this season, as many as he managed during the entire 2012-13 season.

Manchester City
City are the first team to score 20 Premier League goals this season.
The 3-1 victory at West Ham last weekend was their biggest Premier League away win since December.
It was also only City's fourth win in their last 12 Premier League away games (W4, D3, L5).
They have lost twice from winning positions this season, a record only matched by Crystal Palace prior to the weekend fixtures.
Sergio Aguero has scored in three league matches in a row; he has never scored in four successive league games for Manchester City.
