You can't really argue with a point at Chelsea, but the desperate, pleading looks on the faces of Spurs fans craving one more piece of genius from Gareth Bale as he stepped up take his last-minute free-kick against Chelsea told the story - that was a game Tottenham had to win.
Now Spurs are hoping for either Chelsea or Arsenal to slip up - and Chelsea will have played at Aston Villa 24 hours before the trip to the Britannia Stadium - but even if they do Tottenham surely cannot afford to drop any more points, and Stoke has not been a happy hunting ground.

Whether it was the hapless Heurelho Gomes bursting into tears there in Juande Ramos' last match in charge (Gareth Bale and Michael Dawson were sent off in that game), or the sight of White Hart Lane reject Matthew Etherington celebrating a double in last season's defeat (Younes Kaboul saw red in that one); Spurs have not had much fun in the Potteries.

It wasn't much fun for them back at the Lane in December either as they played out a nondescript goalless draw. Back then Stoke were on an unbeaten run which was to stretch to 10 games; without that peak in November and December Tony Pulis' side would now be in dire trouble.
I saw them lose to Manchester United last month and, notwithstanding the opposition, it was about as grim a display as I have ever seen from a Stoke side under Pulis, who deserves enormous credit for getting his team to take seven points from the three games since.
Such is the congestion in the bottom half of the division that Stoke's late flurry of form means they are now only two points off 10th place and as a result could yet finish in the top half of the top division for the first time since 1981. That would be great on paper, but Pulis and his bosses know the reality: that it's been a long, tough season at the Britannia.
Stoke City

"On their day they can beat anyone so we know we're in for a tough match but I'm sure it will be another cracking game.

"We want to go out on a high and hopefully we can do that on Saturday.

"It's been a wonderful season but it's not finished yet. We would love to go out and win on Saturday now and hopefully Celtic can do us a favour.

"Hopefully we can do it in front of our home supporters and get that European place."

Dundee United forward Rory Boulding: "We don't have much to play for anymore in the league. But we've got a new manager in and I've got everything to play for in terms of impressing him and showing that we want to be part of his plans next season.

"I'm only contracted to the end of this season, so I will have to find out about my future soon.

"I've got these two games left to put down a marker. It would be good to get a few minutes in both matches and show the manager I'm worth another deal.

"If you believe in your own ability, then you know you will get a club somewhere and that you will be playing next season. But it would be nice to stay here as it's such a big club.

"In the top six, you are playing the best teams week in, week out and it makes for difficult fixtures. With the amount of changes we have been having in the squad, it's made it even more so."

St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas: "It's a massive game. They are collecting the trophy and there will be a partisan atmosphere but we have our own agenda to get a result that keeps the European race alive going into the final game.

"It's a great challenge for the boys to go there - can we ruin their party?

"We know it's going to be a tough match but we have been on a decent run of form.

"We are in there fighting and we are trying to take it to the last game of the season."

With City having already booked their place in the UEFA Champions League for next season through their Premier League standing, Wigan are guaranteed a place in the 2013/14 Europa League regardless of how they fare on Saturday.

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has declared himself fit for the trip to Wembley, with the Ivory Coast international having been rested for the midweek victory over West Bromwich Albion.

The only player guaranteed to miss out for City is Scott Sinclair, as he continues his recovery from surgery to remove a blood clot in his shoulder.

Costel Pantilimon is expected to get the nod in goal ahead of regular No.1 Joe Hart, while Edin Dzeko will be hoping his winner against the Baggies on Tuesday has put him in contention for a starting berth.

Manchester City
• Manchester City, who have won the FA Cup once in 43 years, are also hoping to lift the silverware for the second time in three seasons in their 10th appearance in the final.

• No club has ever won the FA Cup and been relegated from the top division in the same season, but five clubs have reached the final and been demoted to the second tier: Manchester City (1926), Leicester (1969, who lost to Manchester City in the final), Brighton (1983), Middlesbrough (1997) and Portsmouth (2010).

Karim El Ahmadi (thigh) and Ciaran Clark (foot) will be absent once again, with the pair having sat out Villa's last two fixtures.

Richard Dunne has returned to training with the development squad as he looks to build up his fitness but, having been sidelined since Euro 2012, the Republic of Ireland international is very unlikely to figure this season.

Aston Villa

Paul Lambert's side have won five of their last eight games, scoring 18 times in the process.

Despite that impressive run, Villa have gone 20 league games without a clean sheet, the longest run by any club in the top flight this season.

Christian Benteke and Gabriel Agbonlahor have scored 13 of Villa's last 18 goals. Agbonlahor's tally of six in seven games has taken him above Dwight Yorke as Villa's all-time Premier League goalscorer with 63.

Benteke needs two goals to become the first Villa player to score 20 in a league season since Peter Withe in the 1980-1981 title-winning campaign.

Chelsea

Chelsea have scored more headed goals (16) than any other team in the Premier League this season.

The Blues are second in the Premier League form table (W5, D2, L1) behind Arsenal. Villa are third (W5, D1, L2).

However, Chelsea have lost three of their last six games on their travels.

Ramires' midweek goal against Tottenham took his league tally to five, all of which have come at Stamford Bridge. Two of those goals were in the reverse fixture against Villa.

Haringey Sixth Form Centre kicked off the Inspire Boxing project in partnership with ‘Sky Sports Living for Sport’ which aims to improve student’s attendance, punctuality, attitude to learning and confidence.
The project utilises world class athletes who work with Sky Sports or in professional sports to mentor and deliver a series of boxing fitness training sessions to a group of level two BTEC students.
The project was launched by Sky Sports mentor Hannah Beharry who is one of the top female boxers in the UK.
Beharry started the project by delivering a talk on her life story along with some team building exercises.
The project involved Arches Boxing Gym delivering constructive activities to a targeted group in a local inner city school.
This focused on a group of students who either had poor attendance, punctuality or attitude to learning.
The sessions were delivered by Rod Douglas, who was an Olympian and Commonwealth Games gold medallist and four times National Amateur Boxing Association (ABA) winner.
His gym is one of only nine boxing gyms in Europe that has been endorsed by the Mohamed Ali Foundation.
The sessions were delivered on a weekly basis with the intention of improving attendance, punctuality and attitude to learning with weekly targets.
Students met with their mentor to assess whether they had met their targets. By the end of the three month project the students who had met their overall targets were awarded with a £40 voucher from Sports Direct and an Inspire Boxing trophy.
