Show Genl Info: Development began in 2009 at Showtime by then-Showtime entertainment president Robert Greenblatt and Steven Spielberg, from an idea by Spielberg, who had been working on the concept for years.The original concept was that each season would follow the production of a new musical; if any of them were "Opening Night", Spielberg would make them into an actual Broadway musical. The series was mainly inspired by The West Wing and Upstairs,Downstairs.Greenblatt then brought the project with him to NBC when he was made NBC Entertainment president in January 2011..."Smash" is a musical drama that celebrates the beauty and heartbreak of the Broadway theater as it follows a cross-section of dreamers and schemers who all have one common desire -- to be a "Smash". The series centers on a desire to create a Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe --written by the successful songwriting duo of Tom (Christian Borle, "Legally Blonde: The Musical") and Julia (Debra Messing, "Will & Grace"). Julia recently began the process of adopting a child with her husband of many years, but her focus is torn when she has the opportunity to write another Broadway hit. A rivalry soon forms for the lead role between a youthful, inexperienced Midwestern beauty (Katharine McPhee, "American Idol") -- who is trying to find fame in the big city against all odds -- and stage veteran (Megan Hilty, "9 to 5: The Musical"), who's determined to leave the chorus line and finally get her big break. • Ian Holloway welcomes one of his former clubs, and will not want Leicester to join Watford and Birmingham as the only sides to leave Selhurst Park with maximum points.

• After this Palace have back-to-back away games against Blackburn (27 April) and Millwall (30 April), before concluding the regular season at home to Peterborough (4 May).

Leicester City

• Leicester recaptured their winning touch with a 3-2 home triumph over Bolton on Tuesday after nine matches without a maximum, and returned to the play-off spots on 64 points, one more than Bolton in seventh.

• They head for the capital in search of their first back-to-back victories since January, and a first triumph in eight on the road.

• Their final two fixtures are also against fellow promotion chasers - Watford at home on 26 April and Nottingham Forest away on 4 May.

• Defender Lloyd Dyer could make his 250th career league start, and forward Dave Nugent his 300th.

Birmingham City

• Birmingham have pulled themselves up to a comfortable mid-table position, as their second season outside the Premier League approaches its conclusion.

Leeds United

• Leeds are one place and one point better off than Birmingham in 11th, and are hunting a first away win in this calendar year and in 12 on the road.

• The West Yorkshire side have racked up 10 fewer Championship wins away from home than at Elland Road, and own the highest disparity of home and away points in the second tier (42 at home, 16 away).
