Tottenham head coach Andre Villas-Boas will recall several first-team regulars, having made nine changes for Thursday's win in Tromso.Forward Emmanuel Adebayor is a doubt because of a groin injury, while Christian Eriksen, Danny Rose and Harry Kane all remain unavailable
Manchester United pair Robin van Persie and Nemanja Vidic could return after respective groin and head injuries.
Ryan Giggs is likely to be involved two days after turning 40.
Manchester United's demolition job on Bayer Leverkusen was the last thing the Germans needed as they bid to progress to the Champions League last 16 - and it wouldn't have made good viewing for Tottenham Hotspur either.
Spurs' loss at Manchester City was as comprehensive a beating as any since TOWIE's Joey Essex  took on The Times cryptic crossword, and the fear of a repeat must be at the back of their minds.
To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, to be comprehensively thrashed by one Manchester club may be regarded as a misfortune; to be hammered by both in a week might look like carelessness.
Despite Tottenham's 2 -0 win at Tromso on Thursday night it is critical they show massive improvement on Sunday because no result in the Europa League is likely to fully restore confidence after such a shocking performance as the one at City.
A win over United - well that would be another matter. It would also be their first at White Hart Lane since 2001.
Tottenham's lack of goals had not been critical because of their water-tight defence, but it feels like they are at a crossroads just now.
Forget the title, with the competition for the top four places even greater than usual, they must recover their poise at both ends quickly or face being out of the equation.
Manchester United's win at the BayArena was certainly David Moyes' best result at the club and extended their unbeaten run to 11 games in league and cup. But for some carelessness, they could conceivably have won all 11 of those matches.
If Ryan Giggs features at White Hart Lane he will become only the fourth 40-something outfield player in Premier League history, following in the footsteps of former club-mates Teddy Sheringham and Gordon Strachan and Crystal Palace forward Kevin Phillips.
It may just be worth noting that Giggs is currently 47 matches short of 1,000 for United. He couldn't, could he?

Head-to-head
Manchester United's only defeat in their last 28 league and cup meetings with Tottenham came at Old Trafford last season (W20, D7, L1).
Spurs are winless in this fixture at White Hart Lane since May 2001 (D4, L8), when Willem Korsten scored twice in a 3-1 Premier League victory. United veteran Ryan Giggs started that match.

Tottenham
Tottenham's 6-0 defeat by Manchester City last weekend was their heaviest league reverse since a 7-1 loss to Newcastle in December 1996.
However, they had kept an unrivalled seven clean sheets this season ahead of the latest round of fixtures.
Spurs have failed to score in three successive league matches for the first time since January 2009. They last went four matches without scoring in August-September 2006.
Excluding a penalty, they have not scored with any of their last 78 shots in the Premier League according to Opta.
Prior to the weekend matches, only the bottom two sides - Sunderland and Crystal Palace - had scored fewer than Tottenham's nine league goals.
Andre Villas-Boas' side have yet to earn a point from a losing position this season.
Michael Dawson is set to make his 300th English league appearance.

Manchester United
The Red Devils are unbeaten in 11 matches in all competitions, taking 14 points from the last available 18 in the league (W4, D2).
United's tally of 21 points from 12 games is their worst return since the 2004-05 season, when they finished third.
They have conceded at least one goal in each of their last nine Premier League away games, their worst streak since an 11-match run between August 2002 and January 2003.
Robin van Persie has scored in each of his last four league appearances and has 19 Premier League goals in 2013.
Ryan Giggs celebrated his 40th birthday on Friday. He is the top scorer in Premier League matches between Manchester United and Spurs, with 10 goals.

Predictions:
Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney were outstanding but Leverkusen were ordinary at best and it will be interesting to see what team David Moyes selects against Spurs after they slipped up at Cardiff last week.
I am expecting Tottenham to come out and have a go at them and, if it is a nice open game, I can see it ending up a high-scoring draw.
Lawro's prediction: 2-2
McGowan's prediction: 1-2
